Nah Eazy had already passed away by the time they took this picture, there wasn't bad blood between them anymore

I don't know breh, Dogg Poung dissed them on Dogg Food and that came out late '95 after Eazy died.

I'm sure I read a Suge Knight interview somewhere where he basically said the beef died along with Eazy

Funny, I had been playing all of my old Eazy CDs this week and this thread pops up. Ruthless really is overlooked but that's going to change a bit with the new NWA movie.

I had it in my head that Eazy's music was kind of dated, but that shyt holds up--the beats knock and the lyrics are funny, and his voice is still so unique.

Here's a couple Eazy songs that were done for soundtracks that often get overlooked I think. They did pop up on Eazy compilations down the road (Eternal E and Featuring...).

Eazy Street (notice the similarities to OPP on this one)

Here's another rarer song, it was released on the Dr. Dre cash-grab compilation First Round Knockout. Song is called "Bridgette" and is the only outtake from The D.O.C.'s debut album--you can hear Cube and Eazy on it a little bit during the skit portions. It was dropped from the album for being too raunchy. I think the album works just fine without it and is an indisputable classic, but still, this is nice to hear. And it is funny.

The tape for this fukkin' song got left on someone's dashboard and melted (true story), and this is what they were able to patch together which is why we get the weird explosion sounds. I think some of the Bone members redid their parts. It was intended for E. 1999 Eternal and really, it would've fit nicely. "Sleepwalkers" with Bone and Eazy.

Hmm, I never even heard this one before. Uses the Boyz N The Hood beat. Kind of sucks IMO until Eazy jumps on it about two minutes in, so that's cool.

The Chronic dropped late 1992, but they had there name out there in 1991, but let's say 93-96. That's a shorter timeframe for Death Row to do what it did, so that's even more to their credit. Plus they still had stuff come out later like Michel'le, Chronic 2000 etc. To keep it completely honest, when I think Ruthless, I think the main people like B.G. Knocc Out, Dresta, Eazy, D.O.C. With that said, I'd hardly say they went strong until Eazy's death in 1995. Some albums Ruthless dropped didn't even sell 10K. Sure, Bone brought them back to the forefront, but Bone didn't really sell like that until after Eazy's death with E.1999. Death Row is legendary, but fukk Death Row. This is Ruthless Records' thread. :myman:

this is lopsided thinking.

youre trying to credit death row for just being around in '91-92 and trying to act like the post-pac stuff made a dent. then in the same breath, turn around and try to downplay ruthless?

bone thugs was multiplatinum fresh out the box breh. they didnt start selling after eazy died. lol. creepin was double or triple plat before eazy-e passed. thats about the same that the chronic sold, and it didnt get half the promotion of the chronic.

That Pac and Eazy pic is photoshopped, now that thats out of the way..

Ruthless is really the label that set the blueprint for most of the shyt these rap labels do these days.. Suge Knight himself admitted he took Eazy's blueprint. Ruthless and Eazy-E himself doesnt have the legacy of a Death Row or 2Pac because Tomica took it over after Eazy died and everything went to shyt.. most people born after 95 will know about several other dead rappers before they know about Eazy and thats sad considering rap wouldnt be what it is without him, hopefully the NWA biopic does him justice. Eazy-E is the original Hip Hop hustler, before Diddy, Jay, Master P, Birdman, 50 Cent, etc.... oh and fukk Jerry Heller:pacspit:
