All this Dream Team '92 greatness talk and how Pippen would lock up any of the 3's today, and it got me to searchin' how played against the best 3's of his days... What i found was :what:

VS.

Domonique Wilkins (From 87-96) (31 games)
28.5pts/6.5rbs/48% w/3 40 point games :krs:

Grant Hill (From 96-00) (10 Games)

23.5pts/8.8rbs/6ast/49% w/ a 37 point game

Chris Mullin (From 88-93) (10 games)

24.3pts/5.6rbs/53% w/ a 38 point game

Glen Rice (From 92-98) (24 games)

18.9pts/3.7rbs/43%

Jamal Mashburn (From 94-99) (7 games)
22.8pts/6.1rbs/40% w/a 50 point game :myman:

James Worthy (from 88-93) (12 games)

21.1pts/4.7rbs/48%

Glen "Big Dog" Robinson (94-03)

22.6pts/6.3rbs/49% W/ 3 games of 35+

Lets face it, Pip got by on reputation much like :childplease: dominating the NBA All Defensive team throught the '00s

U mean to tell me a guy who was torched consistently by Chris Mullin, and had 50 dropped on him by Mashburn would somehow summon his Super Saiyan powers and shutdown LeBron or Durant... Hell... Even Melo. FOH :shaq2:

:pacspit: @ nostalgia and revisionist history

Thanks for posting all of these meaningless out of context numbers, unless you have video of every game highlighting how they performed when Pip was on them in context of the game situation you just wasted an hour of your life.:youngsabo:

As for the Dream Team vs. 2012 team debate, the thing most 2012 advocates seem to ignore is how much a great defensive front court (with shot blockers) improves your perimeter defense. Dream Team had Ewing, Robinson, Barkley and Malone controlling the paint and defensive glass.

There is a reason the Magic have a top 5 defense year in and year out and it has nothing to do with the perimeter defense of Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, Jason Richardson and JJ Redikk.:rudy: Orlando has one great shot blocker/rebounder and they're consistently a top 5 defense. The Dream team had 2 great shot blockers and 4 great rebounders at the center and pf positions. Pip and Jordan were 2 of the greatest perimeter defenders of their time despite playing with guys like Longley and Will Perdue "protecting" the rim. Give them the Admiral, Ewing and Malone to clean up penetration???:wow:

That last generation of NBA players needs to fall back and keep us fans from pulling cards...Pippen was a good defender, and as much as it hurts me to say this, he didnt deserve that top 50 all time spot

Bruh Penny is my 2nd favorite player of all time but i cannot agree with this. Maybe over bron... but not KD

lebron is for sure
durants a close one
but he chucks a lil too much sometimes
he dont miss:jawalrus: but still, penny had a better arsenal

Penny was better creating off his own bounce, while still getting others involved. Durant up until this year was mainly a catch and go shooter.

Nigs remember pippen for the Pacers series when he completely shut down Mark Jackson. H was a one man full court press.
