The bracket was dumb. No way in hell was Jordan the best COLLEGE player ever.

Over Lew Alcindor? :wtf:

You could say Christian Laettner was a better COLLEGE player. shyt you can make a case for Adam fukkin Morrison being a better COLLEGE player. This is ridiculous.

Laettner and Lew were as well. Don't even see that as MJ shade either. They were.

It's funny, on thecoli, you have people saying a lot of people weren't old enough to watch 80s ball, so shouldnt comment on it, yet everyone is a ucla 60s basketball expert:dead:

No one on this board saw kareem play in college. Without googling, what teams did he win his titles against? Can any of you tell me the great college centers he was dominating? Who was he going up against in his 3 ncaa title games? Dan Obrovac? Ned Sharpenter? Rusty Clark? Jerry Johnson? Talk about plumbers. Did any of these players even get drafted? Did anybody on the teams he faced in the title games get drafted? Everyone one of yall are going off of what you've been told, not what you've watched or studied.

Bill Walton too. 3 years, 3 Naismith awards, 2 NCAA titles, 2 time Final Four MOP. He went 44 on 21-22 in one of the championship games.

Kind of hard for anyone to compare to Kareem or Walton for accomplishments, the game is just different now.

They told us antebellum slavery wasn’t fun, but maybe we shouldn’t believe them thanks to your post. :jbhmm:

You basically said history should be ignored. It is a stupid take that is sadly too common for The-The-The-Coli.com
I didn't "basically" say anything. Youre forcing a horrible interpretation to make an even horrible argument and false equivalence.

I said people say kareem is the goat college player but couldn't name the teams he faced in the finals, what centers he went up against or whether they or any of their teammates were drafted. None of this is hidden, unverifiable information. I'm promoting history and its research, not saying ignore it.

You don't have to be clueless about what teams he faced, what centers he faced or whether any center he faced got drafted. You can verify all of that for yourself. The thing is no one knows these things nor cares to check them out. They rather blindly say he's the goat then look at you like a deer in headlights when you question them.

Your false equivalency to antebellum slavery really wasn't even worth a response. Judging by your thinking skills and your responses, I'm beginning to see you're not really worth responding to. You have a lot of holes in your thinking you need to button up before making posts and attempting to argue on the-the-the-thecoli.com.

Yeah man, you are saying that history isn't important. This entire passage is that.

No one is blindly saying Kareem is the GOAT college player. You are the one doing that. People have posted his record, accomplishments, etc in college. Only you have disparaged it.

Nah, its a perfect analogy. I am only pointing out how stupid it is to dismiss the past because we didn't experience or live it, or can't recite every detail.

I'm literally asking what teams and players did he face without googling it. If you can't, you lack understanding on what you're trying to argue. Something as basic as knowing what teams he faced should be known. Otherwise, you're blindly parroting what you've heard without knowing something so rudimentary. One breh said for sure cap faced villanova. This is what i mean.

I am directly promoting history. You can't be a student of history and not know basic historical facts. Your failed analogy/false equivalence exposed your low level thinking. Like I said, button up the holes in your thinking instead of trying to force an argument out of thin air.

Well someone posted that the freshman team he lead defeated the defending and soon-to-be college basketball national champs. You dismissed that...

No one has done that. His accomplishments were listed several times and you ignored it. Why? Because someone dares question that Jordan is the best college player of all time?
I am directly promoting history.
No, you aren't. You want the history that is hospitable to your ears to be promoted.
You can't be a student of history and not know basic historical facts.
Except people have posted basic historical facts about Kareem's college career in this thread and you have ignored it.

What teams did he face in the NCAA championship game?
I don't know

What centers did he face?
l don't know

Were any of the players he faced top picks or even drafted?
I don't know

Basic historical facts. You're either lazy or have been caught regurgitating shyt you never felt the need to look into because you accept whatever you've been spoonfed. Touting his championships and using them as the basis as to why he's the goat without knowing who he defeated to win those championships is nothing more than parroting in its simplest form.

Knowing the facts of what you're supporting is Debating 101. Don't accuse me of dismissing history when you're proud of being ignorant of it. If you weren't around during those times, you study the history. Going back to your failed antebellum slavery analogy - all of this rudimentary information is available. Make an effort to understand what you're talking about instead of regurgitating what you've been spoonfed.

The only time history is ignored is when it doesn't paint a rosy picture of the thing you're supporting, which seems to be the case here. Stop being lazy and research the history instead of acting like it's a monumental task to know what teams he defeated to win those highly touted NCAA championships.
