Mike (freshman): 13.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.8 apg
Worthy (junior): 15.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.4 apg
ewing (freshman): 12.7ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.6 apg
Worthy wasn't exactly blowing mike out of the water statistically. Team was pretty balanced. If jordan was a role player, what were matt doherty and jimmy black?
And the awards you listed, mj got 20 in 3 years then entered the draft. Ewing got 19 in 3 years. Came back for his senior year and scooped up an additional 13, so given context, the discrepancy doesn't mean much.
You clearly don't understand college hoops historically speaking.
Role players. In the four corners offense, you had a key guy who got the majority of the touches and the rest was role players. The good thing about the four corners was everyone was getting shots but you only had one star on average. It's not like today where you have these iso based offenses like Duke last year where Zion and R.J. dominated the rock. MJ if he played today would have done the same. That's why Chicago is like Dean Smith held him back when Dean never held back Michael. shyt, he taught Michael how to play Basketball. That's why he was so fukking good when he entered the NBA. Four corners are one of the best fundamental offenses you can run. It's special. You teach perimeter players feel for the game, how to see the game, how to attack situations, and how to make reads. shyt is lovely, to be honest. I hate that it kinda died with Dean. Coach Roy runs aspects of it but it's like the triple option, the new style of play has killed it, even at the college level. The three-point shot ruined fundamental basketball.
You might want to add defensive stats. Ewing had some of the most insane freshman defensive stats in the nation.
Year 2 and 3, MJ was the star of the four corners.
