Tua got benched for Fitz, Dolphins have been connected heavy to Watson (sounds like they even made an official offer) and he wasnt named a team captain this season (which is super odd for a non rookie starting QB)

his own team is why people are looking at Tua funny, shift your blame to the Dolphins for how they have handled him - why would someone who follows the Dolphins passively think super highly of him with all those happenings?
Sports talk radio and ESPN daytime TV ticky tacky shyt. Nothing concrete or valid or justifiable for these hot takes. Team captains and Watson rumors.

:yeshrug:
Because like its been stated already, once the defense showed that they were a high quality group, the playoffs became an option, and the ups and downs a rookie QB is gonna go through were no longer part of the process so they sat him, brought him back sat him etc
The Dolphins timeline changed.
They weren't in rebuilding mode like they thought they were.
They don’t seem to care understand the shift in expectations. And how that effects perceptions.
Man stfu.. like tank for Tua didn't exist.

Herbert worked for his.. if Herbert had been on Alabama in college, he wouldve shredded the NCAA passing marks.
“Worked for his” :mjpls:

I guess Tua just had a silver spoon and was blessed. :mjlol:

how is getting benched, having your team actively making offers to replace you & not being named a team captain AS A QB 'ticky tacky' shyt?

Im just saying from an outsiders perspective, you can see why people would be overall down on him - and its mainly driven by circumstances like the above, which were all driven by the team he plays for

at the end of the day, rookie QBs can struggle, so its not fair to write him off
not being named a captain as a starting QB isnt a great sign though

and add in eye test, he plays too dink & duck like for my liking, I thought he would be a QB making plays downfield (hes young though :yeshrug:)

Nikkaz acting like tua was Alex Smith as a rookie. Did y’all watch him? Terrible and it was mainly because he wasn’t ready and played on a weak team with a retarded coach. He has it worse than Tua. But sometimes you gotta give a dude some time. If there’s no progression next year then it’s time to move on. Folk acting like he’s ass though.

mall that said I thought licking him that high was a risk and now look at the expectations for a guy recovering from a huge injury.

hope he makes it

Alex Smith was largely a disappointment though

He was. But he turned his career around largely because he played within himself. He got many chances. Right attitude, smart, athletic and efficient. 1st overall pick talent? No.

Tua to me is a better prospect but his injury has always worried me.

What I have a problem with is folk looking at Herbert like “you shoulda picked him”. Maybe, but this isn’t a deshaun situation where everyone knew he was a beast and being picked behind trubisky was retarded.

cats wanna act like Herbert was 1st overall talent coming into this. His play has been surprising. Growing pains will follow.

yeah nobody had Herbert over Tua like that ... he did get some hype building right before the draft, but like you said nothing like Mitch/Deshaun situation

Tua has had crazy hype since he stepped in during that 2018 Championship game and lit it up. People just have very expectations for him, its not necessarily a negative. He just hasnt looked like THAT dude since the surgery

Him, Lawrence and lance were way overhyped coming out of college

tua has avg mobility and throws a wobbler

lawrence has no touch, struggles with progressions and gets shaky in the pocket

Lance another 1 read qb with questionable mechanics

Herbert was getting top of the board hype at the start of his last two years in Oregon, the talent was never in question. It was his ability to actually go through reads, make good decisions and clean up his footwork.

What his rookie year showed us is that his college program failed him and once he got under the tutelage of a pro staff all those areas got cleaned up and the big arm & mobility were allowed to thrive.

I agree that Tua over him isn't anywhere near a 2017 Trubisky situation, but the monday morning QBs are always gonna talk when someone behind you shines brighter. No way around that.

i remember arguing with 9er fans when trubisky was in College…this guy is a bust. This wasn’t some big revelation. Many of us was saying this. Deshaun played against NFL talent in College on the big stage and win a national title. Big arm, athletic, smart. Can’t miss prospect. And these fools took Mitch who had what 1 full season?

Son balled in 2 championship games against Alabama. Why the fukk would you take trubisky? It was such a retarded pick.

He's getting the Josh Rosen treatment and I just don't know why. Something is going on. Whether it's true teammates don't respect him, the org wants to trade him...whatever it is, something strange is happening and the only other time we've seen this happen so quickly was Josh Rosen. In Rosen's case the story was he was too smart, didn't love football enough, too many weird outside interests (you know, like reading books). In Tua's case, is it his religion? It has to be something. Regardless breh isn't being treated right.

Rosen was complete garbage though across multiple organizations
