Occasionally online or in real life you will see people discussing "falling in and out of love" over the course of a marriage or relationship.
This ensures lots of vigorous typing and denials and all caps screeds and woe is me! There is no such thing as true love!
Angsty angst.

When you see someone say "oH my spouse did this or that or we went through this" and I swear it made me fall in love all over again.
The responses will be different.

People have a very hard time separating falling in love with being in love and loving someone.

I am in love
I love him
There's many times I've felt like I was falling in love all over again.

When you think about it that rings true. You mentioned three different ideas that sound very similar, but when you look closer they are totally different. For instance, the whole being in love feeling can easily go away when the person you are seeing gets into a complete accident that leaves them in a vegetable state. They can no longer provide you with the environment and emotions that bring about the feelings that puts you on cloud 9. On the other hand loving someone involves wanting what is best for that person, caring for them, and etc. Yeah, I understand the falling in love feeling but definitely know that I am not in love lol.

agape love: "the highest form of love, especially brotherly love, charity; the love of God for man and of man for God" basically love that wants nothing in return and the best for said person.

That's the type of love you should work toward in your partner. The truth is though since we are human, that's really not possible. Our love that we have for a mate will be tainted, You'll have doubt's about your love for a partner sometimes, you'll get mad, tired and upset... You'll want your partner to love you like you love them...

The bible, whether you believe in it or not really has the best definition of love

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

How many people can say this is the love they display or receive? The closest you probably get to that is towards a parent or a parent towards a child.

When it comes to the bold, I try to display all those things when I truly love and care for a woman. Its not easy, and its even harder when you have to sit on L's that aren't your fault.

But that's love....If more people displayed that kind of love toward each other people would be much happier over all.

For some reason people have this twisted idea of love that if your really in love you can't really have fun or go ot and enjoy yourself.

I think I value trust more than love honestly. Knowing that I can trust someone wholeheartedly serves a greater purpose than loving them which can make me blind to certain situations.

Like, my wife's my best friend and with that, she's got 100% of my trust. Sure, I love her but some days I can't stand her. Trust though, that shyt never waivers like love. It's more logical than the emotional shyt attached to love.

Maybe that's what love is... I dunno. That's just my two cents on it :yeshrug:

This is exactly what I've been talking about. Why I get exhausted hearing people say how they like me. (No brag intended)

I don't believe them. I'm anyways smiling, I'm a great listener, I'm not bad to look at, I like caring for people, and people like to be cared for. Of course, if someone makes you feel good, you'd enjoy being with them. But that isn't love or what makes a relationship. True love is serving, caring for others, commitment. In a healthy relationship it should be mutual.

Most of the time people just want me to make them feel good but I don't get much out of it. I don't get what I need. So I'm waiting for the one who cares for me.

Yup love involves putting up with a bunch of shyt you might not like. A bunch of stuff that might annoy you, and a bunch of stuff you might totally disagree with. For me, I can tell if someone actually has love or is in love with me by how much of my BS they put up with. If they are around after the smaller mistakes and annoyances. If they really just have my best interest in heart with no ulterior motives.

With that said, I hate when people use love as an excuse as to why they did or didn't this or that.

Yep, if you got someone who can put up with your bullshyt, and you can put up with their bullshyt, you're set for a long-term relationship.

I all know is that the true answer at the very basic level to this complex issue is #GMB.

I see you plucked that out. :sas1: I thought that was one of the more obvious connections based on the OP .....maybe people are more attached to romance than I thought :sas2:
