what about guys like Snoop? He's openly admitted to using them for a while now.

snoop can also freestyle off the top of his head..legit freestyle like ask him to point at something random and he can create a rhyme from it

Just a Kid From Chicago
I don't even care whether this has an impact on Drake in terms of his popularity, which has now quickly became a Drake's stan go to calling card (I've heard the "nobody will care" used in record breaking numbers). I just know a large part of Drake as an credible artist, died last night.

We've all heard reference tracks before in the past for the likes of Kanye and Dr. Dre whom for all of the praises in which is heaped upon them in this culture, have never been praised to be one of the more prolific artists when it came to crafting actual songs & hits - we've known where they've stood for quite some time - but to have a guy who's sitting comfortably atop of the rap game who's known for his melodies, songwriting, cadence, flows, hit-making ability, and all around showing the uncanny ability to adopt to the forever changing climate in hip-hop, is a completely different case from the other two aforementioned.

All of those qualities are now to be called into question and there's not a platinum single, or a platinum album plaque that's going to stop it from happening. A lot of rap fans need to seriously stop playing armchair executive and stop worrying about how other people will view things. I don't give a fukk, nor do I expect some teenybopper run of the mill uncultured white bytch to be effected by this. But, how does this effect YOU when you're on a hip-hop website and knowing all what YOU know about the culture? Stop the imaginary street team, and stan shyt for a second and ask yourself are YOU okay with this?

I know I can't rock with this.... There's a reason why plagiarism in this world, from academia to the professional field, is so frowned upon on. Okay, you've used someone else's work to help bolster your own. Cool, tell your audience exactly where you've used the material that isn't yours, and cite the source. Don't try to past those individual's work as your own and on top of that, repeatedly tell your audience how great you are while referencing said work....

Like I said, maybe this won't effect his popularity and foothold in music, but the damage to his rep will be more than enough to appease me as a fan of the culture.
