The Gostkowski kick was too early in the game to say it decided anything. They had plenty of time to make up for it, and who knows how the game would have played out had he made it. Sure it's easy to say "look they needed 2 instead of an XP to tie.. He blew it!" But that's just far too simplistic. The game could have unfolded in a number of ways after he missed that kick. Denver's D won the game and deserved it
People act like the Broncos would have run the same exact plays and everything would have played out exactly the same up until the final play if the Patriots kicked a FG on one of their drives. It doesn't work like that.
I can understand both views about whether or not to kick the FG or go for it with about 6:00 left in the fourth quarter. The Patriots had not really been down that part of the field much of the game and they would have needed a TD one way or another. I don't mind the "take the points" crowd, but the ones who say, "Well, if you kicked a FG here, and then here, and then on the final drive, the Patriots would have won" are beyond retarded.
