I didn't get that either. I figure that was Vince's ol' "pay your dues first" ass booking but they really could've given him a stronger showing other than having him get his ass kicked for most the match. In fact, isn't getting his ass kicked the entire match Ziggler's gimmick normally? lol

I think it was way simpler than that. They knew people wanted to see Nakamura, they asumed Chicago was going to go nuts for the guy, so they gave him a standard "heel vs face" match were the heel has a long ass control segment before the babyface gets his fierce comeback and the W to make the fans happy. It's WWE 101 to be honest. It didn't work for a variety of reasons but it's pretty normal for them to book that type of match.

Nak was underperforming in nxt too

The series with joe should have been good, it got to the point where they needed to stop having them matches because they were so pedestrian

I think nakamura will turn it on at the big shows, but honestly I'd like to see just a little more on a regular basis

I'm a big fan, but it sucks, cause why pay to go see the guy if you feel he's going to be stuck in 2nd gear if it's not mania summer slam or a legendary opponent

If that's the case you kinda should've seen his NXT run coming. I was disappointed by the match with Ziggler too but I'm not surprised about it either. That's just how Shinsuke operates.

That match with Zayn might be one of the most perfect introductions of all time. Easily one of the dopest debut matches anyone could ask for.

That said, it has felt like diminishing returns with every match since. Like barring the Zayn match, I'd rate them "Eh it was ok I guess" and maybe outside of the Balor match, I thought they were longer than they needed to be for what you got.
