In a world devoid of both Kryptonite and any knowledge of his powers or weaknesses, it's not a good look. You're correct that Marvel has abundant magic and telepathic users, especially compared to DC which could actually backfire. It increases the probability that he'll run into some of the mid ones first which would put him on guard.
It's probably speed blitzes from there on out and that's bad news for anyone.
