Dude isn't just talented.. He's an EXCEPTIONAL pop artist..In some ways I feel like he's underrated..He is the sound of a whole generation and has spawned more clones than dudes that people claim have more influence..In his 3 year run he has more hits than Bad Boy did in their prime and thats no small accomplishment..
The problem with him is he's not a good hip hop artist or a good r&b artist..And he's constantly being placed in those catagories...If people just look at him for what he is and put him in proper context a lot of the hate would go away..
can you explain to me a kid who had a bar mitzvah, and studied a book and religion to have that bar mitzvah, THEN goes to calling himself a nikka when the religion studied CLEARLY STATED you are what your mother is... your daddy dont mean shyt.
then after being raised by the jewish rich loving mama who supported your wheelchair acting career, you start making mixtapes and acting like a thug and saying nikka what nikka who, and that youre the fukking "man"
fukk outta here.
he may be a rapper, but hes a fruadulent acting type one.
and if he can wear a yamucha and become a man at 13, he can realize how dumb of a wigger he looks now...a dark type wigger; at whatever the fukk age he is now.
Now drake's persona is a tough guy? Cause he was hyped on himself on ONE song and he was talking about his crew anyway. You and I both know drakes bread and butter is love and the negatives of being famous. And yeah...he has every right to say he's the man let's check his track record and his sales numbers.
And to others, pop rapper? Take Care was a pop album? no, he's just diverse. Lord Knows, Look What You've Done, Underground Kings, etc. all hip hop as fukk. Then Shots for me, marvins room, cameras...that's good r&b. Of course he has some pop songs like take care and shyt but the hate is strong for him for no reason. So strong that I don't even like dude that much and felt the need to type two paragraphs about jimmy.
I disagree that he makes good R&B...Atleast not in the tradition of the greats.. I have still yet to see him sing live on stage acapella..
Also yes he has talent but..
His subject matter is repetitive as fuccccck
Sing me another song Drake..
You wanted fame so bad you could taste it now that you have it the fames a little hard to deal with?
You have a good girl but shyt there's so many girls around you what are you supposed to do?
What's the new one?
You're a real nikka real nikkas know you're a real nikka
I don't fukk with Drake because there was a huge switch up from the shyt he was dropping from 07-08/ part of 09 compared to present day.

creating good r&b doesn't equate to being a great R&B singer...just like creating good rap music doesn't equate to being a great rapper
True.. But I don't even think that he's a good singer... Not sayin you gotta be Luther but can we atleast shoot for Ricky Bell?
still makes good R&B music. I wouldn't mind an album full of Drake computer assisted singing, but there are a lot of great R&B singers whose albums I struggle to sit through
I dont consider Drake to be a pop artist in any sense other than that he's popular.
When I think of pop-rappers, I think Flo-Rida, or BOB
