Plus the lakers just did this a few years ago for Dwight and it blew up in their face and he left

Doubt they wanna go through that again

:mindblown: :mindblown: :mindblown: :mindblown:

i dunno why so many peeps use the dwight trade to the lakers as an example for shyt like this

this trade for westbrook would make the LAL give up their future
that dwight trade they gave up a nikka that took a year off

Not necessarily. It's a gamble either way, but the right young player and a pick or two could keep them at least somewhat relevant. I can't see them ever being able to sign even an above average FA if Westbrook leaves, and 1 incredible season by him statistically does nothing for the future of this team. Make a deal and try to get someone to pair with Oladipo and a pick in next season's draft. Who knows, if Westbrook verbally agrees to re-sign with the Lakers they might be able to pry D'angelo and/or Ingram away from them.

Might be able to swing something like Westbrook for D'angelo and Clarkson, then send D'angelo to Philly for Okafor or Noel, and they're not half bad. Clarkson, Oladipo, Okafor or Noel, Kanter, Adams, and their role players. That would be far from a perfect roster, would have to move Kanter or Adams for a wing player probably, but they'd at least be a respectable team for years to come.
nikka said make a deal... Any team that's smart will not do what the Knicks did. Had the Knicks not traded 4 players for 1 they would have been a great team. Why trade for someone who can pick his team next year

He wouldn't re-sign w/ Boston or OKC
He wouldn't win with LAL and I doubt he'd re-sign either if a better circumstance presents itself
Spurs not even gonna attempt it and also don't have the assets

So Clippers it is? :patrice:
