You don't do that..This nikka could possibly have the greatest season ever.. OKC will be a lottery team the next 10 years if they trade him or not..

Not necessarily. It's a gamble either way, but the right young player and a pick or two could keep them at least somewhat relevant. I can't see them ever being able to sign even an above average FA if Westbrook leaves, and 1 incredible season by him statistically does nothing for the future of this team. Make a deal and try to get someone to pair with Oladipo and a pick in next season's draft. Who knows, if Westbrook verbally agrees to re-sign with the Lakers they might be able to pry D'angelo and/or Ingram away from them.

Might be able to swing something like Westbrook for D'angelo and Clarkson, then send D'angelo to Philly for Okafor or Noel, and they're not half bad. Clarkson, Oladipo, Okafor or Noel, Kanter, Adams, and their role players. That would be far from a perfect roster, would have to move Kanter or Adams for a wing player probably, but they'd at least be a respectable team for years to come.

Someone explain why he going to annual lottery bound LA when he wants to win? :heh:
I hate this narrative that star players will come to LA because it's the Lakers. These guys want to win a ring. They're either going to GSW, CLE, SA, LAC in that order.

They ain't trying to copy Chuck, Stockton, Malone, etc and be MJ'd out of a ring

Especially when they get roasted by their peers constantly for being ringless

Kenny Smith wack ass acts like he's MJ flaunting 2 rings he coattailed to when around chuck

The three team deal they're talking about makes the most sense right now
OKC trades Russ to LAC, CLE trades Kyrie to OKC, LAC trades CP3 to CLE. Everyone wins :manny:

How does everyone win? Kyrie is a better shooter than CP3 and almost 10 years younger. Bron doesn't need a distributor like CP3 he needs a few 3 and D guys. It makes no sense for the Cavs to do that deal.

its crazy but russ has all the leverage here

which team is crazy enough to sign him without an assurance that he reups

the logical answer is that you only do that if you are allowed a discount to his value to compensate for the assumed risk

tricky times are ahead
