over all i guess it's whatever.

My main problem with the movement is that at some point it turned into a "we're better than you because we have natural hair and if you don't join us, you're the enemy". Girls were sheep for wearing weave and now they're still sheep if they mostly do it cause it's the in thing. A lot of them just don't want to feel shamed and left out so they join in thinking they are building self-esteem. But they haven't put in the work to actually build self-esteem. Just taking a short cut (no pun intended). its like you said, a lot of them do it to impress eachother. there's where they get their self-worth from. They still bully eachother, still put eachother down over it, still think their hair defines them but now to top it off, they think they've arrived and are above the rest. at least when they had the weave, they weren't fronting as much...And in general, i actually prefer natural hair, don't get me wrong. it doesn't apply to all of them either.

i guess what i'm trying to say is:
I feel you, but you can't tell me you get to the same "self esteem" when you deem that your ACTUAL hair isn't enough for you to work with.

and this is another thing that needs to be discussed. people automatically assume natrual hair chicks are some type of gawdesses and weave wearers are demons.
But let's be real some of those natural hair earth mother types are watching scandal and getting smutted out by white boys behind closed doors.
Not hating but natural hair doesn't automatically mean she's a good woman and a weave doesn't mean she's a bad woman.

every time you're talking to a weave wearer, just stare at her hair. dont even look her in the eyes, just look at the hair hat and start sniffing around like you smell something foul. that's how i passive aggressively react to weave wearers. :ld:

I've told black women that they look better without weave and I have been met with crazy stares and harsh words

All this weave talk from Black men is suspect, real men don't care about what women do with their hair. Black women have the most unique hair in the world, don't be mad at them for being caring enough to not show off and have other race of women jealous. Putting weave in their hair is another step to end racism.

Weave is honestly ok to me. But its something about a chick with natural hair...curly or laid flat.If i can actually see her scalp and she got nice hair...major turn on
