I think It's a good thing though . A lot of little black girls and woman don't even know what there natural hair looks like, (due to getting relaxers at an early age ) let alone do they know how to take care of it. sometimes you need the support of others not to take the easy way out ( relaxers , weaves) if you've worn a relaxer most of your like its soo easy to fall back into it. I done it myself.

Got damn you with them cat ass eyes :noah:

What is wrong with Black women wearing weave? I'd gladly travel to India with a barber kit, grab the first little girl i see and shave her bald. Proceed to bring her hair back to my wife(who is strong) and let her weave it up. Black women aren't the only race of women that wear weave, this forum is pathetic with the constant Black women hate threads, almost like reading st0rmfr0nt. Mysogynists.

Someone give this man the poster of the year award :heh:

Weave is like coke in the 70s, recently there has been an influx of high quality weave due to a lot of these overseas B2B sites like Alibaba, DHGate.Black women can get the product directly from the source instead of going to a asian owned shop that taxes them for it. People made fun of bad shytty weave, but now that the regular women can afford the same type of hair Beyonce used to wear. nobody trippin.

:why:.......

Because I remember back in the mid 90's and early 2000's, the shyt was frowned upon. Are weave jokes still.....funny:why:? I only ask because I just saw this photo of these chicks and all 5 of them had weave in their head inside the club. Personally, I don't mind it but I guess part of me would prefer that it be 50/50 with women you see out everyday. It's either a wig or a weave. Why can't they rock that shyt natural? I love girls with big fro's that be curled up and shyt but nowadays, even those are wigs :snoop: I mean, should there be a day dedicated to no weave in her head? I'm kind of getting sick of this phenomenon
the sad reality is that we're seeing the result of being raised in a world where white women are held as the standard - which obviously includes their straight hair. many black women, especially those raised in a home of uneducated and poor parent(s), aren't taught to love themselves and their natural beauty. they truly feel that they are ugly unless their hair is straight. i absolutely cannot stand black women who wear weaves. it's fukking sickening. makes me instantly go :scusthov:

I don't really mind about those hair discussion. I mean, women get obsessed with a lot of crazy stuff, I don't get surprised that hair is one of them. But if I have to choose an opnion, I do prefer well cared natural hair.

The thing is that men in general don't really care about hair and stuff, I do rock a small fro and thats all, of course I wash and stuff.

A sin is those niccas with shyt like that http://www.thecoli.com/data/avatars/l/12/12669.jpg?1386224261

its dope though.

Since there aren't that many hair products and techniques for women these days who don't use chemicals or use other "additions" then its a way for them to share tips and meet others who have done the same thing.

You gotta remember, these are still women who do shyt to impress other women. But if they can gain some self-esteem from it, more power to them.

over all i guess it's whatever.

My main problem with the movement is that at some point it turned into a "we're better than you because we have natural hair and if you don't join us, you're the enemy". Girls were sheep for wearing weave and now they're still sheep if they mostly do it cause it's the in thing. A lot of them just don't want to feel shamed and left out so they join in thinking they are building self-esteem. But they haven't put in the work to actually build self-esteem. Just taking a short cut (no pun intended). its like you said, a lot of them do it to impress eachother. there's where they get their self-worth from. They still bully eachother, still put eachother down over it, still think their hair defines them but now to top it off, they think they've arrived and are above the rest. at least when they had the weave, they weren't fronting as much...And in general, i actually prefer natural hair, don't get me wrong. it doesn't apply to all of them either.

i guess what i'm trying to say is:

"Every bytch with an afro ain't down for the cause...and every bytch with a weave ain't down for the fall..."
