Your sales pitch could go for every free agent on the market for the next two years. @ me when there is any slightly credible piece of info that makes him coming here at all possible..not that "Celtics are interested in ______" or "Celtics aggressively pursuing _____". Jordan was looking like a good chance for a while..so was Love last year (via trade or speculation on this FA) and had rumblings during fractured terms this year...rumblings on Aldridge/Wes...everything has died off.
Having him as a Celtic would make it easier for us..but so did Melo for the Knicks right? And why would he come here because it'd be easier for us to sign someone else? Hes a top flight max guy..it needs to be looked at in the opposite. We need another good-great player first to make it more likely for a top flight max guy like Gasol to get here. Why do you think we've been going HAM for Boogie/Love for two years via trade? So we could attract a FA now. We missed on them and we're going to have to settle for a B level max guy and just improve our record next season to have that aforementioned sales pitch make more sense to elite all-stars. We're two big players away. If we have to get a 2 or 3 option to pair with IT this season then thats what we have to come to grips with. No more chance of a home-run this year..just a double. By all means, keep the hopes alive but dont be shocked when we dont land any of the premier guys this summer.
