It will be like when Denzel won it for Training Day even though he shoulda won it for Malcolm X..Dicaprio will get the Scorsese treatment, he will eventually win won but it wont be for his best role....it will be like a this dude deserves to win it now!
The fact that he didn't get nominated for that role is bullshyt. I've never even heard of half of the movie's you listed on there. He wasn't even nominated for best actor but but Kate Winslet was nominated for best actress.
As Good As It Gets swept best actor with Jack Nicholson and best actress with Hellen Hunt. Titanic won best picture and director.
- WINNER -Jack Nicholson β As Good as It Gets as Melvin Udall
- Matt Damon β Good Will Hunting as Will Hunting
- Robert Duvall β The Apostle Euliss "Sonny" Dewey, aka The Apostle E.F.
- Peter Fonda β Ulee's Gold as Ulysses "Ulee" Jackson
- Dustin Hoffman β Wag the Dog as Stanley Motss
he plays the same guy in every movie
daniel day lewis career shyts all over leo
no way in hell he would've beat jack that year so it really dont matter ....as good as it gets was pretty much a perfect filmThe fact that he didn't get nominated for that role is bullshyt. I've never even heard of half of the movie's you listed on there.
My bad...no way in hell he would've beat jack that year so it really dont matter ....as good as it gets was pretty much a perfect film
Leo got some dope movies under his belt but i think young leo had better performances than he does now...matthew had the better performance and movie imo so im completely cool with him winning
He wasn't nominated. Nothing for Shutter Island was nominated. I think it had to do with the timing of when it came out.
- WINNER -Colin Firth β The King's Speech as King George VI
- Javier Bardem β Biutiful as Uxbal
- Jeff Bridges β True Grit as Rooster Cogburn
- Jesse Eisenberg β The Social Network as Mark Zuckerberg
- James Franco β 127 Hours as Aron Ralston
oh ok ...that was a pretty terrible year in oscar movies....i only saw true grit and social network outta all of themMy bad...
I meant to quote this post.
I was talking about this year, when he played in Shutter Island
resume is crazy, hit after hit and no wins
It seems like he's been so great for so long that its expected. he rarely if at all makes flops. he's done biopic flicks and still gets shut out. Don't know what else he can do besides go full retard in a role.
cant believe they didnt give him one based on his career especially in a year where his only competition was matthew "these girls stay the same age" mcconghehy and emeka okafor
He has to play a woman in order to win an Oscar brehs. Like some nikka who is undergoing a sex change or some shyt.
I don't understand why you nikkas are feeling sorry for him. He is the number 1 actor in Hollywood, if there is a good script, he gets the first read. The idea behind the Oscars, is once you win one, you have potential to make more money and have a better selection of scripts. But he really doesn't have that problem, because he is top dog.
