Academy is not gonna dap him up because they like to see perceived effort or an actor stretching their limits/going outside of their usual zone. Most Leo roles aren't really that much of a stretch for him to play (his most recent ones).

1.) Stop working with only big name directors. Scorcese/Nolan/Eastwood/Mendes/Tarantino etc. I'm sure Academy thinks thats acting on easy mode. Take on an Indy role with an up and coming director.

2.) Straight up go for Oscar bait. Do the physical challenge (either gain a shyt ton of weight or lose a shyt ton of weight) or go out of his alpha white male zone for a hollywood agenda prototype (gays or jewish people.)

He will win when he's older, ten years from now or so and it wipl be more of a lifetime award type nod and not for the actual performance he gives.

I do, actually. He's never been a Tom Cruise type to me. He's no Gary Oldman, either, but I've never really seen him as Leo. Gary has only been nominated once and that was just in 2012. That dude absorbs his roles.
