Back when they weren’t afraid to talk to the real Black people



They were definitely afraid to talk to real Black people. That's what made Donahue such an important show. Nobody, and I mean NO MF'N BODY, was bold enough to give people like Min. Farrakhan airtime & a live mic.
To my knowledge, Phil Donahue was the only major journalist, Black or white, who platformed our Black icons and allowed them them the freedom to speak their minds.
