It’s wild how y’all downplay the ripple effects of certain legislation. During the next economic downturn, a lot more people in dire financial straits are going to look to sports gambling as a quick fix to bounce back and eventually lose, sparking even more bankruptcies, foreclosures, delinquencies, etc. This will lead to a slower economic recovery and more demand for public assistance.

Keep thinking yall can legislate human behavior away

It’s not about legislating away human behavior. It’s making certain activities illegal while accepting people will still engage but minimizing the societal ripple effects.

That's exactly what it is, you trying to pretend otherwise is disingenuous

Yall think yall are saving people but all yall want Is people locked up

People known this when betting apps were legalized. There is a reason why they were required to put gamblers anonymous disclaimers in their commercials. :manny: Besides that their strategy was slick as fyck. They implemented free fantasy football which conditioned people to the notion years before it was rolled out. That shyt wasn't a coincidence.

Why we downplaying it. Losers gonna be losers one way or another. It's not up to society to fix and control everything.

If u can't afford to gamble don't...but stop fukking with the fun for the folks that want to without hiring a shady ass bookie....

economic downturns are leading to our vice economy tho. with every boom and bust, things that were seen as taboo become normalized and legalized as investors seek new ways to make money. see: violent video games/films, porn, gangsta rap/drill music, weed, vaping, even stuff like Galaxy Gas. Next we will see a push for decriminalization of psilocybin so companies can sell micro dose shrooms at a profit and legalized sex work.

Sad what they did to the mafia this way

These guys literally created sports betting, loan sharking, drug dealing and the govt takes all of them from them and does it themselves lmao
