Twitter sold for 44 billion. None of these NBA teams are valued that much. You keep throwing shyt at the wall but nothing is sticking.

This is my first post in this thread that you quoted...

What L am I taking by stating the obvious? In comparison to Musk, Bezos, Ballmer, Zuckerberg and the guy from the Red Bull group he's up against, HE DON'T GOT IT.

You also came in here saying that everyone interested in buying a team needs to be a part of a group which is cap. We literally just saw Ballmer pay 2Bs by himself when he bought the Clippers.

:camby:

You came in headfirst into an L bringing up Steve Ballmer and Bezos (literally 2 of the richest men whoever lived) as an outlier red herring to an obvious point that you will need an Ownership group to buy an NBA team. Then you went on some "What are you talking about :laff: " and I had to educate you on how business deals are done for 99% of investors. Then you looked even more dumb acting like Matt Ishbia "only" having $5 billion is not alot of money. Bringing up .1 % outliers to troll my post doesn't change that fact

Accept your L :pachaha:

YET THE HAWKS WERE PURCHASED
FOR 850 MILLION A YR LATER.

BRON COULD PAY THAT OUTRIGHT
YET nikkaS TALKING 7 BILLION
FOR HIM TO GET IN.

From a previous valuation that was half of that prior to the Balmer purchase. Everyone’s valuation doubled. The Hawks are valued at $2B now. Plus, Levenson had to come off that quick cause he Sterling’d himself. They got him up outta there quickly and silently. And it’s $7B cause the NBA expansion fee alone is $4B. That’s before you get even get into cost of being the owner of the team AND it being Vegas.

LeBron will just be the face of whatever the Vegas franchise turns into so I don’t even think it matters if he’s an ally or not. But him turning into a full time ambassador for the game is a dream for Silver and Bron wouldn’t have much choice but to do it for the sake of the team not becoming the next Pelicans or Hornets.

With Vegas, you either turn into a darling like the Golden Knights, be doubted out the gate like whatever the A’s are trying to do or be some “welp now we’re here” shīt like the Raiders.
Why would they (the league) want an owner to be an ambassador? They like quiet owners. Even Cuban eventually bent the knee after being loud and obnoxious for years. They’ve taken issue with Ishbia, Dolan, etc. besides, Silver is the mouthpiece of the owners.

This.

Still the most popular player and you want him to have a Tom Brady type transition that it’s connected to the sport — no matter what he gets into next. So why not usher in the next phase of expansion with your most popular player.

For Silver it’s far better than LeBron “straying” and throwing his name and money behind the Big 3 or doing something with the NFL or striking out on his own like Lavar

Only places like Flamingo, Excalibur, Luxor type places.

Quality hotels like Wynn/Encore, Palazzo/Venetian, Cosmopolitan, etc will be way more expensive than Circa.

Circa too far from the strip to really get a vegas feeling.

Cant walk from mall to mall or hotel to hotel if you staying at Circa. Its a fairly decent journey even in a taxi/uber.

If you on a budget I always tell people stay at Planet Hollywood. Mostly central of the strip, can walk to many places, casino floor still active with 25-40 year olds unlike the flamingo where the average age is probably 80 :flabbynsick:

Bridge connects to cosmopolitan so easy access to marquee pool/nightclub or aria

Has a mall inside it with regular stores (champs, guess, fanatics, shyt like that) if you dont want to shop designer wear. But if you want designer you’re across from both the 2 nicest malls in las vegas (aria side and caesars side both walking distance)

If youre going to save money, then save money and still get a vegas experience at Planet Hollywood compared to circa, resort world etc

But if you dont mind spending on nicer rooms, then plenty of better options
Now if @Buckeye Fever wants to hang with the freaks at night then stay on Fremont.

This will be very interesting to see play out.

It's a different game that's played at this level of wealth and owning a team. All the money Bron's generated for the league is surely uncharted, but we'll find out real quick if the NBA cares when it comes to him getting a team.

He's going to need a lot of help coming up with the capital for this.
The league let Jordan get a team so why not Bron?

Because Robert Johnson was running a Mickey Mouse operation and plus he was going thru a divorce and splitting assets with his ex. Jordan got something no owner in league history got: a team for pennies on the dollar. Johnson got in at $300MM while MJ got it for less than that. They will never allow that happen again cause it’ll fukk up the valuation of their asset, particularly if you’re a small market team owner.
