ITS BULLshyt THOUGH
BECAUSE A LOT OF THESE TEAMS
WERE BOUGHT FOR 1000% LESS
NOT TOO LONG AGO
AND NOW THEYRE TRYING
TO MAKE SURE THEY PRICE nikkaS OUT.

CELTICS WERE SOLD FOR 360 MILLION
IN 2002.
NOW THEY MIGHT SELL FOR 4-5 BILLION.

360 MILLION IN 2002
IS 629 MILLION IN 2024.

ONCE nikkaS STARTED GETTING MONEY
THE PRICES OF THESE TEAMS SHOT
THROUGH THE ROOF TO PREVENT OWNERSHIP.

Ballmer buying the Clippers for $2 billion is what got Jerry Jones to get on the horn with Goodell and get the NFL back in LA. Then they made sure it was multi-billionare Knonke that won the bid because he was going to build a stadium with his own money which became SoFi. Jerry also won because his company "Legends" runs the concessions at SoFi. And then in turn.. One of the main reasons Mark Davis and the Raiders got Vegas was because naturally, Jerry Jones' Legends got the contract to do the concessions at Allegiant Stadium.

A lot of backdoor deal handshake greese the wheels shyt with expansion, ownership, and stadium/arena construction game. Add in kick backs to mayors, city councilmen, officials that approve these projects and the money trail gets deep. Inglewood's mayor, James Butts, is a big time dude now getting SoFi and the Intuit Dome built in the city.

Vegas gonna be so lit the next decade :banderas:
How so? Just based off tourism which isn't the way to build a fanbase. Clark County only has an expected population growth of .5% over the next 15 yrs. They're gonna be giving tix away like MS casinos do for Avant and Keke Wyatt and shyt. Permanent residents only got so much $$ to spend on sporting events, plus they'll be competing with everything else that's in town. Gonna find out they're not the Raiders which has a fanbase that'll follow them any and everywhere.

The league let Jordan get a team so why not Bron?

MJ got the Bobcats at crack prices at a time when you didn’t have cats like Ballmer with insane money who could buy anything but didn’t know shīt about sports.

The days of an owner who is solely focused on the team and not some conglomerate company that makes them wayyy more $ is coming to an end.

Those old school owners are cashing out in the age of super inflated valuations, insane TV deals, regional sports networks (for teams that have them) and they know they can get mini bidding wars popping off.

Meanwhile, LeBron simply doesn’t have the cash to be a majority owner and definitely not a sole owner. Every dime he has liquid probably gets him like 4% of a team since he could cobble up $3-400 million cash and drain everything he has out. That’s big boy $ to us of course but his true value is optics, ambassadorship and (definitely) as a mascot to butter the league up — and the other owners who have to sign off on it.

His paper could go way longer in the MLS but that shīt just won’t hit the same.

Las Vegas was the #2 fastest growing city in 2020 :dahell:
"
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The City of Las Vegas was ranked second fastest-growing city for the year 2020, despite tumultuous economic disruptions.

In a report released by Updater, a relocation app geared toward the United States, Sin City continued its upward boom as a public health emergency ravaged on.

According to the company's researchers, Las Vegas was ranked second for net gains relative to its population size, moving six spaces up from last year.

Most people migrated from cities like San Fransisco, Los Angeles and Sacramento, Updater said.

Only Greenville, North Carolina beat Las Vegas after previously holding the third-place spot."

as far as future growth;

Las Vegas is top 5 in growth potential in the entire United States

"Accounting for these factors and anticipating future trends, the population of the Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise metro area in Nevada is projected to grow from 2,335,600 in 2022 to 4,450,000 in 2060. The 90.5% projected population growth in the metro area is the fifth highest of all 384 U.S. metro areas." Las Vegas, NV Will be Among the Fastest Growing Cities by 2060 | Clark County OCED

Bron Hov Magic And Mike :wow:

I don't think yall understand how much money is actually required to purchase this franchise.

Magic Jordan and Bron could liquidate their entire networths combined and still not have $7 billion

The amount of people on the entire planet that could afford to own even half the team without disrupting their finances is only about 500 people.

Literally anyone interested is going to half to piece to together an ownership group of at least 20 to buy the team at $7 Billion.

Agreed, but I do think the NBA will do well in Vegas but at the same time that will max them out as far as the locals having expendable income to spend on sports teams. I have no clue how Vegas can support a MLB team that has 82 home games on top of the Raiders, Knights, and future NBA team.

So if Red Bull buy the team will they be called the Vegas Red Bulls the way they their soccer teams have Red Bull in their name? :scust:

Southern Nevada is expecting growth but the one thing they aren't doing, which is the part being studied by urban planners, is how slow the city/county/state governments are dragging their feet in updating the city's master plan and how they plan to account for that growth and the environmental issues that are affecting that region. So yea, growth in that region will be +/- 3 million by 2060 but the annual growth is what I'm speaking on grinding down to that .5%

How do you know. What is your gauge? Why are you only seeing negatives. Let nikkas have something for fukks sakes.
I know because when MJ left, that city and its fans were glad that he was leaving. Never did I see Stern or Silver let him get out here speaking on behalf of the league or the owners cause...wait for it...that's the commissioner's job. But you want nikkas to just have something :yeshrug: I'm not seeing negatives cause all the shyt y'all dreaming for him to do post retirement ain't in an owner of a teams job description. He's gonna have a team and Klutch (which I believe he'll have to divest himself from). When will the NBA ambassador find time to matter to him?

NORTH LAS VEGAS
The NBA is following the NFL and NHL's lead in coming to Vegas....both franchises have been successful in different ways.....,the Golden knights have already won a chip and the Raiders are top 10 in franchise worth in all sports....the NbA already did the math on this shyt :manny:

Now the Raiders only have to fill the stadium 8 times a year and it's always on Sunday....them fans are at least 50% from out of state.... So let's see

Im betting on Adam Silver making sure the Vegas franchise is successful out the gate like the Golden knights and those season tickets getting sold out ., Vegas has always been a basketball town going back to the runnin rebels :ehh:

The A's should stay in Sacramento
