Presumed objectives.

Aka i made the shyt up.

Other than 2 first round picks, what do the lakers even have the nets would want.

And they can always sign Kyrie in the off season when sabo contract comes off the books.
Not how it works. Learn the cap next time brah. He'd have to take a pretty big pay cut and they'd have to no longer want Rui then surround everyone with vet min players.

Just cause Russ is expiring at $47 mil doesn't mean that suddenly they get that to use next year

Between Lonnie, Pat, and Russ, the Lakers have 66 million coming off their cap next year. If you add in other players on one year deals, they have over 70 million coming off their cap next year. They should be able to sign Rui for around the MLE, because nobody wants a turnstile headcase player who might disappear for weeks at a time dealing with "mental health issues"...you know...like Kyrie :lolbron:

The lakers would not be able to pay Kyrie the full max salary he is eligible for, but who is going to pay him that? shyt they get Rui cheap enough that actually can almost pay him the max, depending on what the salary cap is next year.

According to his haters he runs his entire team's roster, forces his coach and GM to obey his will, sidelines every superstar who he ever plays with into a mere role player, has singlehandedly changed the NBA, has dozens of media figures including former players who do nothing other than follow his instructions, runs a sports agency on the side that is calling the shots for entire franchises, not to mention his business and philanthropic empires. Oh, and of course he's one of just 2 players in NBA history with 4 MVPs and 4 Finals MVPs while holding the all-time playoff scoring and soon regular season scoring records.

I think y'all need to figure out what you mean by "beta", cause it doesn't make much sense as an insult here.
It’s not that deep breh, players get clowned on for entertainment, Lebron is a great player

Like breh tried to tell you, that's not how the cap works. The Lakers are $60 million over the cap right now, so all those guys coming off the cap only brings them a little bit under. And no, they ain't gonna sign Rui for no midlevel excemption, midlevel players don't cost three draft picks. They're going to have to pay him $10-15 million plus to retain him (his cap hold is $19 million), and at that point they'll likely have around $20 million left at most, which isn't no Kyrie salary.

Not to mention that that's letting EVERYONE off the books. Which means they'll have filled the cap with Bron, AD, Rui, and an underpaid Kyrie alone. No centers, no 3-and-Ds, and no bench. How is that going to work, especially when LeBron old as hell, AD always injured, and Kyrie never reliable to show up for work?

They have to give up on Kyrie, and really if they're committed to Rui then they gotta give up on having any meaningful cap space next year at all. I think they're pretty much screwed if they can't flip Westbrook's contract for at least a couple decent role players, ideally a 3-and-D and a big. If they can they should really try to flip Beverly and Walker's contracts as well, then resign as many as they can out of Reaves, Schroder, Gabriel, Christie, and Bryant (if they haven't already traded one or more of them when they flip the expiring contracts). It's the only way they'll have a chance to be competitive next year.

Why are you laughing? That's literally what has to happen.

They've already scrapped their "FA 2023" plans the moment they traded for Rui.... And honestly trying to go all in on the 2023 FA class was a terrible idea to begin with, I have zero clue why they thought it was viable or something that could be contender worthy. Go look at next year's class.. it's below average
