Explain to me this then:

Wade (08/09) - 30.2 PPG on 49% shooting, 5 RPG, 7.5 APG, 2.2 SPG and 1.3 BPG.

LeBron (08/09) - 28.4 PPG on 48% shooting, 7.6 RPG, 7.2 APG, 1.7 SPG and 1.1 BPG.

How was talks of them being EQUALS deaded after 07, when Wade put up his best season #'s in 09?

Their team records.

Miami 43-39
Cleveland 66-16

Lebron's team winning 23 games more didn't make it a discussion.

Prior to them joining forces, Wade and Bron were largely seen in the same way Durant and Bron were heading into the Finals last season...most would give the nod to Lebron as overall better player, but they were peers seen as roughly on the same level...and Wade was at worst considered the 3rd or 4th best player in the league...

I mean...have we forgotten the first season they came together already? Their dynamic that year was decidedly that of Bron/Wade co-existing as equals, and not "Clearly Wade is nowhere near Lebron's level"...they were pretty much 1A and 1B depending on the night, with Bosh deferring to them both....so the nightly debates over who should be the team's "closer" didn't happen...they didn't put up relatively equal statlines that season? Wade didn't lead the team in scoring during the playoffs that year? None of this happened huh?

I'm sorry, but the groundswell and talk around the success of those Cavs teams and Bron winning those MVP's didn't put Wade shoulder to shoulder with Bron until they joined forces. You pointing what transpired after they joined forces has nothing to do with the point being made that Wade wasn't considered Bron's peer until the hate for him joining the Heat showed itself.

These lebron nuthuggers will do anything to put him further up on that pedestal, even if it means discounting wade and bosh's production pre-miami.

That's your recollection. My recollection is that they were both considered the top two perimeter players in the league. People wrote off Wade because of his injury, but he game back and put up gawdy numbers on a crappy team.

I don't think Wade was a clear step below Lebron until last year. Clearly Lebron was a step below Chalmers in the Mavs-Heat finals.

That's my point. People are forgetting that he was written off. Even when he put up sick numbers, the Cavs success and Bron winning those MVPs didn't put Wade in the conversation.

fukk these dudes calling cats stans and all of that other shyt. I'm speaking on how shyt went down.

:heh:

It has EVERTHING to do it with it....the perception that they were peers is the entire reason their dynamic together the first year was what it was...neither of them deferred to the other because they were perceived as being on the same elite level ass players...Wade wasn't taken out of that highest of high elite levels in the league until last season

Dog....when Bron was winning those MVPs, taking his teams and losing in those Finals, it was jockeying for king of the NBA between he and Kobe.

I'm sorry....Wade wasn't in that conversation because people and their short memories only tie greatness to recent success.

Even Kobe was knocked down a few notches when anchored to Smush and em.

You'd swear I was advocating the tomfoolery when all I'm saying is how shyt played out.

Lebron's team winning 23 games more didn't make it a discussion.

:wtf:

That doesn't mean they weren't equals. What kind of one size fits all type of reasoning is that?

Heat:

2nd highest scorer = Michael Beasley averaging 13.9 PPG while only starting 19 games out of 82 because he was a ROOKIE. Shawn Marion only played 42 games. Jermaine O'Neal only played 27 games. You had a team where the top 5 in minutes were: Wade, Chalmers, Haslem, Beasley and Cook; the next highest offensive threat to Wade was a ROOKIE averaging 13.9 PPG while only playing 24 minutes per game and the second highest player in minutes played was Chalmers who was another ROOKIE.

Cavaliers:

2nd highest scorer = Mo Williams averaging 17.8 PPG while playing 81 games out of 82 as well as averaging 4 assists per game. You had a team where the top 5 in minutes were: LeBron, Williams, Varejao, West and Gibson as well as having one of, if not the best defenses in the regular season.

You don't think their squads were the MAIN reason for their records?
