No. He was initially but had to back out. He was replaced by Mahershala. Honestly, Mahershala fits in the role better but I do wish Denzel took more "off-beat" roles like this.

Good acting from the main cast but the story was lackluster and i was expecting something good to come all while watching it and it never came.

Sam Esmail did a better job with Homecoming which also had a mystery element and Julia Roberts....Maybe because he didn't have to write that....but he got a good eye for directing.

The writers ain't shyt for NWA on the black girl phone like she didn't have valid reason to feel the way she feel about how this white lady was treating them in their own home.

Movie showing how fukked ppl are because they too reliant on tech and we all hate each other. Basically shyt goes down we fukked.

I'm an hour in and so far this seems like another Bird Box. What I mean is... all the major stuff happens off screen and the movie mainly focuses on dialogue between the actors. Which is cool. But I imagine they do this because Netflix is watching their budget?

Either way, I like it. And again I'm only an hour in, but Denzel did the right thing passing on this.

I like this but it's too preachy for me. The best movies are the ones where you get the message without them beating you over the head with it.
