Let me start off by saying that White is far being fair. But, I doubt Anderson made anything less than 2-3 (possibly more) million (purse, PPV percentage, etc.) for that fight. If someone like Overeem can clear a 1 million (for his fight at UFC 141), I'm sure Anderson is making a fair bit more.

Breh I know you know what a milli plus ppv revenue is like.

Pacman gets around 15-20 mill for doing 800k and he is getting fukked by Arum.

This is getting fukked with no vaseline :scusthov:

Sell a million ppvs, break your leg and only get 600k brehs

But Dana White is fair :obama:
i am more outraged by weidman, dude basically came out of nowhere and has zero fans yet commands 400k out of the gate? dont give a fuk if hes champ he should sttill be on the contract he had upon entering the ufc when he wasnt known

how many fighters does arum have and how many employees does he have to pay? now compare that to the amount of employees zuffa has to pay.You think promotion/production dept, buffers, rogans goldbergs and co work for free? they also give the ppv half of what they get remember.

Say they pay silva 20 mill a fight and then what? the guy that beats him wants 40 mill then the guy in another division whos contract is up demands 50 mill, where does it end? u seen how the ppvs buys are doing these days?u really think anderson forwent retirement for 600k? :mjpls: they call those numbers the "disclosed" payouts for a reason.

Machida has a really good style to beat Weidman, as does Jacare (but to lesser degree imo). Machida is easily the better striker, has some of the best TDD in the UFC and his BJJ is excellent. Plus, he's very strong, Weidman will have trouble bullying him around. And he's shown no signs of slowing down.

I'm calling it right now, Machida will be the MW champion before the end of 2014. :blessed:
Machida turns 36 this year is dropping to a weight class he has never fought at and is coming off his two worst performances of his career.

He should beat Moussai, but I just think that Machida is getting a lot of praise for regression....it's not 2010

What does this even mean? :dwillhuh:
OK. I will explain

Machida uses his legs, distance and deception to create angles to hit without being hit. Machida is a lot like Sergio Martinez, a fighter who relies on speed and reflexes, stuff that goes away over the course of aging. Add on dropping to a weight class he has never fought at (not all weight cuts are made the same) and that he is 36 in May of this year, I feel people are jumping the gun on "the Machida Era 2.0"

Jacare strikes me as a guy that the Zuffa brass is unsure of how to push and the fact. A prime example of someone recently who has being in the same spot forever without getting his just do is HW Werdum, a #1 contender for about a year and half, but could lose his shot at the title over night to Travis Browne, just because....

Weidman is not the champ the UFC wants, because he will probably at best pull 250 K PPVs. Jacare would do half that at best and would probably kill off some interest for the division to casual/semi-fans. Jacare needs two strong wins imo to be a contender.

so that munoz fight was an inception? :ohhh:
I actually forgot about the Munoz fight, but don't really hold much stock in that fight.

Munoz is come forward wrestler, who doesn't even use wrestling and struggles with head movement.

The two performances I base the most value upon are Phil Davis, where Machida looked confused at times and Dan Henderson, which was painful to watch.

Machida also I wouldn't say has struggled, but has not been his best when giving up reach advantages - Weidman would have that.

IMO it's Vitor Belfort who beats Weidman or he holds the belt until 2015.

Machida hasn't displayed signs of losing his quickness in any recent fight so I don't understand why you would assume he would lose that overnight. He was a small LHW, usually coming in under the 205lb limit so the weight cut isn't an issue. He looked in good physical shape against Munoz. Werdum just caught a bad break with the Velasquez injury. The brass wanted to rush that trilogy fight out first which is just business, nothing to do with Werdum. Hes very big in Brazil and Mexico, which is why they wanted him and Cain to coach a TUF Mexico/fight in Mexico City. Cain's injury is the only reason hes fighting Browne because they can't have him and the division on hold. And lol@ Weidman only drawing 250k. Thats Aldo level . We are talking about the all american white east coast guy who defeated Silva twice. The UFC is glad they finally have a guy who can appeal to their biggest demo. A fight with between Weidman/Belfort or Weidman/Machida would easily outdraw Jones/Texeria for instance

In my opinion Machida looked flat against Phil Davis. If I am also not mistaken Machida has never cut weight in his career right. In theory it should go well, but for me cutting to 135 lbs from 150 lbs was hell and damn near kill me one time. I just think it is naive to believe to assume the weight cut will be a good thing per say. It could be, but he also could lose speed and endurance.

:sadbron:

BcoQdw7CUAAdD2k.png

Anderson got no kind of ovation after he lost

cacs love you only when you winning :wow:

The UFC will be alright......yeah most casuals that only watch for GSP and Silva might no longer watch since they're done but more stars will emerge.

The irony is that both guys was supposed to have that super fight a few years ago that would've been the biggest in MMA history and they're both done.

Weidman got the cacs behind him, so he'll get a boost of popularity. Ronda still there. JBJ has taken Silva's spot as the top dawg, but has to finish his opponents more excitingly. You also got cats like McGregor thats gonna become a huge star at FW, but he's hurt. There's still alot of exciting fighters in the company, but its gonna take time for them to get at the same level of popularity GSP and Silva were at.

I'll still watch.....I'm not gonna quit watching otherwise, though its a sad day for MMA.

I am not the biggest Silva fan, but fukk this is a huge blow. shyt is going to be like WWE in 96/02

so weidman is a plant by dana white :ohhh:

Karma came home 8 years later
