I wasn’t very good at school eitherTake some time and come back to it. All programming is is a set of step by step instructions. When I understood that, things became easier.

If you can demonstrate a body of work using it then you might have shot. Learn it, do some projects, get those on your resume, and also say you did some Python on the job and it could work.Is python a highly employable skill for someone with no other certs?
