Tariq is instigating this shyt on Twitter. More than likely, theres gonna be a lot of fake accounts popping up with black faces saying homophobic shyt referencing Tariq's tweet. . Then you'll see the black LGBTQs fighting back and then we have some other shyt- "Co-opting"

I’m not. I’m trying to clarify how sexuality is used by whites to avoid addressing racial oppression. It’s their Achilles heel. Traditional, normative blk men and women and our rights get shoved to the side as soon as whites see anybody otherwise to focus on.

I don’t hate or care about what people do in their bedroom. And anybody who does is an idiot. But I’m also not going to lie and act like I haven’t seen whites try and use intersectionality as a way to avoid conversations with race.

I sometimes wonder why that is. Whites are more willing to talk about feminism, gender, class, other ethnicities, aliens, animal rights, the environment, Jews, hell deez nuts in ya mouth...but as soon as anything black comes us, it’s a cacaphony of every bodies drowning us out.

Why doesn’t this happen when we talk about the Holocaust?

Why doesn’t it happen when we talk about immigration?

Or when them Sarah McLachlin videos come on about the poor animals?

I have a working theory on why but I gotta take a mental journey to iron out the fuzzies. Regardless, there’s an issue here and it ain’t being hashed out honestly.
But we're talking about what black people are doing.

And it seems right now you're content on deflecting from his issue to talk about what you consider important.

It's very similar to what white people do when it's time to talk about a black issue like police brutality and they spend their time talking about how we should protest, blue lives matters, or respect the flag.

If you're unable to see the parallels :francis:

Amen Sis!

My sister said the same thing to me in a convo. Whites talk about everything with little pushback...except black people. They dont want to humanize us or understand the suffering we go thru. Black people must create our own pro-black dialogue for ourselves. We are in this alone
I need a lot more weed, long hikes through the woods and shooting shyt on BF4 to get to the bottom of this.

My nascent theory is that it’s because blacks symbolically are the farthest FROM whites in terms of what they can align with.

Our hair, the way we move, our music, our features, our speech, our spirituality, our sexuality, food, culture, bodies, psychology...

All of these differences make us polar opposites to whites. Thus, our demonization has been the major foundation of white supremacy. Sure they hate others, but other races and groups are easier to suck into the white supremacist fold because they may superficially have more in common phenotypically, class wise, sexually, racially.

If that’s the case, it makes sense that racial equality would be the most difficult thing for whites to swallow b/c they have based their entire identity off being different than us and created a system where their differences are rewarded and ours are punished.

So they employ a wide barrage of tactics. ANYTHING to avoid talking about their final boss of oppression: systematic racial subjugation of anyone associated with African genetics.

They’ll outright deny it’s happening.
Lie about the intensity or duration of it happening.
Try to dismiss what they have done and equate it to human nature.
Downplay their role in it.
Try to justify it by saying we deserved it because we are inferior.
Create a mythos of victimization to protect themselves from their wrongdoing.

And this latest shyt with piling on special interest groups is just another way for them to procrastinate and delay the real underlying issue.

Imma iron this shyt out. I need a whiteboard to do it tho.

I see the parallels.

I also know the LGBT movement has grown and blossomed and received unheard of concessions over the last 10 or so years.

Over the last two weeks Black Americans have finally had the veil pulled back on decades of bullshyt where white people made you feel like you were imagining your oppression, only now for them to raise their hand and say "my bad"

All I am saying is the last thing this movement needs now are distractions. This is how progress is lost.

What are blacks doing?

Homophobia is not the same as white supremacy.
And sure I’m totally willing to address toxic masculinity and femininity and issues we have against the community.

BUT

Once again, is there any platform where blks can iron out issues of racial oppression without these talks being co-opted by special interest groups. Why is this a bad thing?

Becayse what will happen is that these communities will get rights while blacks will continue to get killed in the streets as whites use special interest groups to dilute any attempts at basic human rights for blacks.
You’ll get a bathroom. You’ll get marriage and more. You’ll get everything you are fighting for.

But blks will STILL be disproportionately incarcerated and killed and impoverished, even tho our civil rights fight laid the foundation for all others to fight for their rights in this country.

That’s their plan.

I've protested 7 straight days.

Plenty of gay black men and women out there too.

You're telling them their grievances aren't important right now because "reasons."

Anyway I'm not going back. And forth with y'all over this. Clearly you all aren't ready to challenge your views. :yeshrug:

I think it's worth hearing them out. And then making a decision.

But a simple question is, do you believe there is animosity towards gays in the black community?

That is exactly what they are going to try to do
Dilute the movement
I have nothing against the LGBTQ community but they constantly try to jump the marginalized people line,
using black people as pawns and waging war on black men
