Y'all trying to make exceptions on what it means to be black based on sexuality.
I’m not. I’m trying to clarify how sexuality is used by whites to avoid addressing racial oppression. It’s their Achilles heel. Traditional, normative blk men and women and our rights get shoved to the side as soon as whites see anybody otherwise to focus on.
I don’t hate or care about what people do in their bedroom. And anybody who does is an idiot. But I’m also not going to lie and act like I haven’t seen whites try and use intersectionality as a way to avoid conversations with race.
I sometimes wonder why that is. Whites are more willing to talk about feminism, gender, class, other ethnicities, aliens, animal rights, the environment, Jews, hell deez nuts in ya mouth...but as soon as anything black comes us, it’s a cacaphony of every bodies drowning us out.
Why doesn’t this happen when we talk about the Holocaust?
Why doesn’t it happen when we talk about immigration?
Or when them Sarah McLachlin videos come on about the poor animals?
I have a working theory on why but I gotta take a mental journey to iron out the fuzzies. Regardless, there’s an issue here and it ain’t being hashed out honestly.
