Wonder what took him out? He’s not old.

His books were interesting but a Lee Daniels interpretation of the subject is a must-miss for me.
How is Lee Daniels getting the green light to do a show on "Our Kind Of People"? I also heard he's linked to "The Spoke Who Sat By The Door" as well. :mindblown:

For the love of god give one of these projects to Shaka King before its too late:why:

Daniels always takes the easy way out, showers his projects with pathology/ negativity for ratings. Either doesn't believe in himself as a storyteller or believes that mainstream won't accept projects about Blacks without those elements.

Speaking of, have you seen The Wedding? :russ:

shyt about to be a bunch of old black light skin fukkery on some....

peon here, what exactly did/does the Boule even do in 2021?
Not much. Sigma Pi Phi is really no more than any other high tier fraternity. They give business and political connections to those in the know. People paint them as some kind of black Skull and Bones or Illuminati. I don't think they ever had that kind of influence.

I remember dude from before. He was upset about the racism his kids experienced after moving to a new neighborhood. RIP. Life really is short :francis:

Lawrence Graham Otis even had his nose straightened surgically if you've read his book.

Lynn Whitfield, I think she's the best living film actress.
Haven't seen a bad performance or a bad film from her yet.

I watched this with the woman I was with at the time. Wasn't sure and still not aware of whether this was based on actual events, but gave it a go based on LW being in it. She was great, the chick from Mo Betta was terrible, and I snoozed through the Halle storyline.
Actually gonna look through the film section of the forum to see if there's a discussion.
The Whitfield character's story and her relationship with her mother & daughters was interesting.

I forgot that this series came out, and was probably the mainstream's first glance into the world of that circle. Was this out before The Inkwell?

I remember this man now. There was a thread on it years ago about him basically bowing down to white supremacy so he can look as non-threatening as possible. Basically respectability politics. And teaching his sons the same.
Not at all. He's a part of the Black bourgeoisie and wants to pass down certain mannerisms, traits, and group cultural understandings to his children.
It's not "bowing down to White supremacy" so much as it is participating in petit-bourgeois activities.

WTF?? He just did a minor debate with Umar. I guess the Boule probably said enough is enough:snoop::lupe:
It's just a group of wealthy Black people :gucci:
Where do y'all get these ideas from?
