The packed Alamo screening definitely made this one of the most fun theater experiences I’ve had with a horror title in a while. Late night watch for the immersion, plus the crowd clearly being into it. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Had a really good time with this one, 8/10. Wasn’t that crazy about the ending, honestly could’ve gone a lot harder for me. I thought the film was otherwise a masterclass in building tension, and I favor that build-up over what was the payoff in the last five minutes. The girl who played Lily is my MVP, she was creepier to me when she wasn’t possessed.

Had several chuckles throughout. At the same time, there was this uneasiness underneath that was reminiscent of the same feeling I had when watching The Eric Andre Show, or the majority of late night shyt on Adult Swim for that matter. Heavily fukk with that whole vibe. Will be coppin’ the 4K Blu-ray with the quickness.

The amount of production studio IDs at the start though. :dead:

Whole audience was chuckling at this lol

Saw this today, but I swear to God, the amount of studio IDs that played before the movie was :mindblown:

It felt like they would never end that I legit thought the filmmakers were :troll: us

But anyway, I really liked this film :obama:

It felt like a segment from the ”V/H/S” anthology movies.

It lowkey felt like a legit late night show with the way it looked and felt. The last 10 minutes was wild but I kinda wish there was an epilogue since we were kinda watching a “mockumentary” and it showed what happened to the host after everything went down.

Other then that, I liked this.

Saw this in a packed theater, which was surprising, the last theater that was like that was Scream 6, last March.

It was impressive. The tension building, the imagery (the woods, the costumes) the subtle kind of satire/critique of the American talk show, (Did anyone notice the title was in red, white and blue) the acting, the short running time. This was a really well crafted movie. I thought some things at the end were a little shaky, but overall it was great. Like someone said the feeling of dread and unease, a lot of that is based on the idea that talk shows, have to be so light and so reassuring all the time. When it starts to go off the rails,, everyone wants to keep laughing, that's why the tension works so well. The little moments like the guy in the skeleton costume. The way the girl said "I'm not pretty enough", the skeptic character increasingly looking delusional.

"I know you from the tall trees"

like most horror, the payoff is not quite right. The rollercoaster effect. The fire thing is just kind of overdone. Would have pulled some of that back, but still great ending, great movie. I personally don't like late night shows, the format and the kind of smarmy bullshyt from the hosts is not for me, so this was perfect.

oh yeah and the amount of producers was crazy. Just a risk mitigation. And probably paid off if this hits. They all probably put in like 200k each. and could make 10 million. looks like it's at 3 million now.

Wtf. Damn bruh, that's a horrid story

Yeah man, it was on the news.

Mind you, I had no idea where I got them from until I was talking to someone randomly and they :ohhh:"wait, you went to the movies recently, didn't you?" because they seen the news.

Luckily one treatment took care of it and I didn't have to pay for it. Otherwise it would've been close to $1,000.

Made the 6pm news. Damn. A friend of mine got bed bugs from a casino hotel room here in Blackhawk Colorado some years back. Scarred him for life, dude won't stay in any hotel up there again and he's a degenerate gambler lol. I guess I don't blame him.
