I understand the outrage over the game as the more I replay it the more soulless it feels
The story seems pretty mediocre and bland now with a bunch of characters I could care less about

Nobody even really knew about that..If I'm not mistaking, but didn't this woman make the same claim about people reacting to her voicing a fictional Black woman in Uncharted?
Until recently..
And how Drake’s kid was originally a boy until they changed it..
Naughty Dog/Druckman are getting backlash..
Because they want to be the beacon of inclusion..
But all of this feels like tokenism..
I’ve played games with diverse characters before..
Watch Dogs 2..
I will always defend that underrated ass game..
That did inclusion vastly better..
But..
The characters don’t really have a story this time around..
All these factions feel tacked on and not fleshed out..
Then you factor in how they marketed this game..
If you are so confident in a character..
You market said character...
Don’t use this as a ode to Ellie/Joel..
With clear misdirection everywhere..
And even if you still chose to hide certain elements..
At least give the player some sort of catharsis at the end of the game..
Or..
Write it to where Ellie doesn’t get her revenge at all by having
Abby already dead in the final scene
And nobody should be issued death threats/bigoted comments..
Over fictional characters..
But this dude brought a lot of this on himself..
And I think he is reveling in it..
He wanted a divisive game..

the story didn't do it for me and that's because he doesn't have his team, Amy, Bruce, and the other writers with him
Part 2 is Neil unrestricted and to me, its story is mediocre at best
the strategy they used with abby was also dumb and unnecessary
Sony and ND has successfully brainwashed a good amount of people and fanboys into demonizing anyone who criticizes the game
Who was in the board room and thought Neil's idea for this game was a good idea?
Who knows maybe it still sells like crazy but I fear that will only increase Neil's influence
