I've been going back and forth with another poster about this.
I say that the only other people I've met who conisistently (and by default) eat green fried plantains are Cubans.

Everybody else eats sweet fried plantains....which to me are F-ing dsgusting .My first time eating them was at a Caribbean students meeting....I said wtf is this greasy sweet shyt? some kind of dessert?

:hhh:you trippin right now breh

Ripe plantains fried is one of the greatest side dishes known to man.

Fried sweet plantains with black beans :ohlawd:

Fried sweet plantains with eggs - the GOAT breakfast :ohlawd:

If you gonna eat the green plantains why even fry it? Just boil it and eat it with your greens and sit down somewhere :comeon:

Yup.. when they are over ripe and soft.. that's when it's the best fried. Eat it with beans, rice, stew altogether.. that shyt is heaven :ahh:

I used to make it a lot with scrambled eggs year ago, but too much fried food ain't good for ya.

Might be a new development, the OG made it seem like that, he said things changed a lot recently and Russians are buying a lot of property there. and might be exclusive to to the area where I was staying. It was in Punta Cana, a place called “Los Corales”. They even had a big store front with Russian lettering.

wait, you were at a resort? That's a totally different vibe than being out in the cities. I would disagree with a few things you said, especially the speaking Spanish part because that wasn't my experience.
hmm, and here I am trying to learn spanish on duolingo :russ: is this a DR thing only or should I try this in other spanish speaking countries. Depending upon how you dressed would they still think you are haitian?

Breh you better learn spanish if you can. Speaking Spanish has NEVER been a negative for me. And I say that as a regular ol' African-American whose been to Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, DR, and even Spain. Spanish has always made folks endear themselves to me. The chicks love it too. Except for the time I was in the Puerto Rican barrio, I've never been mistaken for anything other than American tho. :hubie:

If you're sticking to resorts then yeah you'll be fine with just English. You fukk around and go too deep into the non-tourist parts and won't be able to get out that bytch due to the language barrier. :mjlol:

This sounds like stuff from the 1990s.

I’m 28 and don’t see this stuff at all. Only thing ill say is that till this day other black groups still wouldn’t let a Haitian breh cut their hair.

Never experienced this personally cause I guess for 1.) i was raised in a white area where whites thought all blacks were African (even AAs), and 2.) My mom raised me so American and dressed me properly that people use to think I was an AA nerd geek (younger years) and later on just AA because they didn’t think I was Haitian (older).

Plus I was never on some “I only rock with my people type shyt”.

That was in around in the mid 2000's when i was a freshmen in highschool. They were constantly getting shytted on especially the fob folks . My younger sis best friend who's Haitian claimed that she was a canadian. It's usually the Fobs that were targeted.

DR is like a paradise for these pedophiles. It's another Cambodia, Thailand in the western hemisphere . DR takes 4th place in the world when it comes to prostitution...
Don't think I could go there and see old, bald, overweight white men wrapped around underaged girls and it not ruin the whole vacation :francis:

most DRs and PRs I know are blue collar, working in skilled trades and shyt. They also own a lot of barbershops, small businesses, restaurants. White collar DR/PRs are rare, college-educated ones just as rare. They aint that intellectual, they street smart rather than book smart imo.

Because most of them live in DR and have no reason to migrate to the US... While in Haiti's case, only the educated and rich can travel, so they choose to flee the country.

Its really stupid to compare two diaspora's and act like thats a representation of the both countries. There's a reason DR is 10 times more developed than Haiti.

Also, it seems like OP probably never left Punta Cana or even left his hotel complex. Thats the only place Russians are deep. But whatever, this a dumb ass thread and its meant as a low key dominican hate thread.

I’m Ghanaian and I’ll tell you 90% of the problems in my country are due to us and us alone and especially poor leadership.

The american mentality and is to put the blame on everyone else but themself, and if you think otherwise, you're a "c00n".

As a retirement or during their success?

The Dominicans I know who are in medicine or business fields pretty much stay put.

My parents moved to DR while in success and had the opportunity to grow in their home country.. I was born in the US and i currently live in DR, and i know many people like that over here.

Santo Domingo is a big city just like any other.. You can find anything you want here and life is good as long as you're economically stable.

hold up ..where the fukk were you where you didnt like the food? some of the best food ever ive had was down there, and good variety too between whats in the capital compared to whats up north in the mountains.

the whole food and argiculture industry is different down there they dont have garbage ass produce and fruit and shytty meat like we have up here. everything ive ever had there was fresh as hell :dwillhuh: all seasoned from scratch too :blessed: maybe some of their fast food or street food spots were sub par but the best meals ive ever had were in DR

the treatment and attitude towards the hatians is fukkin disgusting. and yes, a lot of them will be going to hell for their treatment of the hatians, which is funny considering how god fearing and catholic they all are:russ:

think god cares about imaginary borders drawn by frog eating colonizers? well, they apparently do. just wait until they're at the gate trying to get in themselves :russ:
