Because most of them live in DR and have no reason to migrate to the US... While in Haiti's case, only the educated and rich can travel, so they choose to flee the country.

Its really stupid to compare two diaspora's and act like thats a representation of the both countries. There's a reason DR is 10 times more developed than Haiti.

Also, it seems like OP probably never left Punta Cana or even left his hotel complex. Thats the only place Russians are deep. But whatever, this a dumb ass thread and its meant as a low key dominican hate thread.
Same shyt wit my family. My family is "well off", so they come to the US or go to the UK for a degree, then come back and live that big fish in a little pond lifestyle. Why the fukk would they come to the US or live in the UK and deal wit racist cacs, when they can live that baller life, people aspire.

My parents moved to DR while in success and had the opportunity to grow in their home country.. I was born in the US and i currently live in DR, and i know many people like that over here.

Santo Domingo is a big city just like any other.. You can find anything you want here and life is good as long as you're economically stable.

wow i dont know much about the history of the country but i took a two week holiday there about a decade ago.
So i take it the dark skin people i saw on the street corner when i went to the hood were people from haiti?
Some of them looked similar to angolan people.
When i went there the people were very hospitable the girls were beautiful and friendly and the rice and chicken was amazing.
I didnt see many white men with young black women there.
Maybe its because 90 percent of the time i stayed on the resort and not deep out there into town.

I was in Punta Cana. I said I didn’t like it, didn’t say it was trash wholesale. it might very well just be me :ld:

I stayed in the place for a week. forgive me for not being able to write a dissertation on the historical socio-cultural and economic factors and dynamics that shaped modern day DR :yeshrug:

Where I was staying it was majority black. there was an abundance of “mestizos” or w/e but majority was black

The OG dude spoke Spanish, he just preferred to respond to everyone in English

coolest breh I met there was a Haitian breh that went by “John Travolta”. Funny, cool, breh. hard working too. His job was basically try to get any tourists to spend money at any of the beach businesses and he gets a commission based on how many people he brings in. Dude was hustling from morning to night every day under that blistering sun and always cracking jokes.
You were probably eating resort food

Not everyone that is dark is Haitian. It's not so black and white. Dominicans don't only look like Cardi B and Haitians don't only look like Wyclef. Idk why people still assume Haitians/Domincans come in one shade. Both sides have people of African ancestry. DR just has more people of different ancestries with a significant amount that's mixed whereas Haiti is predominately African but even then that doesn't mean African=Akon. When i went to Haiti this summer I saw mad people that didn't look stereotypically "Haitian".

The whole island is a tourist spot :mjlol:

In fact, the jamaican place I started to eat at was in a regular hood.

I also went everywhere in Santo Domingo :yeshrug:

It's not. I was in Santo Domingo and we stayed with a lady who took us to local spots and found this cafe that had the most disorganized layout but the food was 100% fire. Not a tourist in site...except us of course lol

You do know shyt changes over time, especially a decade.

I mean I never seen Dominicans on my island like that, except within the last 5 years. The Chinese are even gaining a bigger presence as well.
