The best players available don’t always work out. Okafor at #3 was the best available for philly and look how that turned out. They needed shooting and ended up with a big clogging the lane and not defending.

On the low RJ’s skills would make him at worse a great 6th man (if he can’t work with KD and Kyrie as a starter).RJ is likely better than Trier who we have designated for that role

How was he the best though ? I mean the actual best player available. Kp was available for them booker etc and that goes into scouting as a whole . But also this is why I was never a fan of tanking as it’s still somewhat of a crap shoot of who will transition into the nba

I don’t see the Knicks trading #3 for #8 and #10. Even if they liked somebody in that range, there is way to big a gap to make it likely they will be there at that range.

Maybe.... Maybe they trade for the Sun’s pick and one of JJ or TJ but here is my issue with that. RJ is potentially better than both those guys and he hasn’t played a game yet.
