My Pops Forever RIP
The Nets will never be the Knicks

Them mfs ranked last in attendance with a young exciting team. KD ain’t going there.

We can easily turn our fortunes around with KD, another max, one of Zion/RJ/Morant, some smart veteran signings or trades, and Mitch/Trier/Dotson/Knox.
The Knicks having a high attendance compared to the Nets isn’t indicative of anything. If KD goes to the Nets, people will sell out Barclays. If anything, getting 41 home games of Durant on the cheap >>>>

The other thing is we can do something similar to what Miami did, which is to tell KD to pick out who he wants to play with and throw the bag at them. KD wants Kyrie, we can help that happen or Kemba or any other Max. The scary bit for me is if KD wants AD at all costs...not that you can go wrong with say Kyrie, KD, AD; but if we had to give up Zion/Mitch/2021 FRP; My yearning for homegrown stars would make that a bitter pill (2021 specifically because of the one and done rule going away so that's projecting to be a STACKED class).
I thought AD was a free agent this summer? Wouldn't we be able to keep Mitch, Knox, get Zion along with KD and AD?

AD's got one more year but has told NO that he won't re-sign. So he'll be on the block with an expiring that means we're one of a handful of teams with good reason to chase him (and rumor has it NO refuses to trade to LA so even better). I've seen cap heads work out scenarios where we sign Kyrie and KD, plus trade everything for AD. But 1) I'm not sure that actually checks out with the cap and 2) It's basically just those three and we'd need minimum contract signings to fill in the rest.

But I should add that in terms of the trade itself, I'm just assuming those three would be part of it because they're our three best assets imo. If we could keep Mitch, I'd probably be a lot more open.

This also you don’t leave a ready-made championship situation in Golden State to come run with the second most important team in New York. Hell the only appeal of even coming to the Knicks in the first place is the ability to choose an All-NBA player to play with and cementing your legacy by ending a championship drought for one of the most historic franchises in NBA history. Neither one of those as possible with the Nets

If the Knicks get KD and Kyrie, they instantly become championship contenders, so I don’t know what all this “Brooklyn gives him a better chance to win” sh*t is about.
I agree, especially with Mitch and DJ then with Kyrie dishing the ball out to Trier or Dotson. We could even place Knox at the 2 with KD at 3 and play big ball for a monstrous lineup. Plus people sleeping on the fact that we did beat Brooklyn in the season. The only advantage they have on us is a point guard in DeAngelo Russell. If we had a healthy pg in DSJ we would've done as good.

So the rumors about him want his own are probably true then. If that’s the case he needs a team that’s only a superstar or two from winning, that’s not us. And damn sure ain’t Wizards. dude is so conflicted for no damn reason, he had his own team and left to get a chip when they weren’t far off from really winning.
Every team is a superstar or two from winning...

Watching Damian Lillard dominate with his range and off the dribble jumpers is really making me contemplate how valuable Garland can be if he is as advertised (the footage is limited and the numbers are small sample size I know). Zion is 1, it's hard to pass on Morant 2 but I have been back and forth on 3 being Barrett or Culver or Garland a LOT lately (Culver being my type of player but the other two having upside like crazy).

skill is supreme.........skill is what will make a 20 year pro run possible even as athleticism & physical gifts fail as they are promised to*
