In the sense that he felt like he owed Timmy in the way they traded him on draft night while Timmy was sitting in Clyde Frazier's restaurant eating with his family & not getting a headsup before seeing it on the tv screen.
That was the "I owe him" & a lack of seeing the forest instead of the trees type of decision.

Oh, I see.

Regarding the other questionable decisions by Mills, like Mitch, every decisions he made, regardless of how miscalculated, was an attempt to better the team.

It was foolish, yes, but he isn't a malevolent force in this organization.

I'm just hoping that this nikka FIz ain't Rico.

We already know KP was Kermit, that snake boyfriend of A's sister.:pacspit:

-----------------------------------------

Side note: And I'll be flamed for this but fukk it, I dead ass had a dream last night that I was in a 5 v 5 pickup game with Mitch 'block a bytch' Robinson. shyt was jokes:pachaha:

But, brehs, Mitch was hitting midrange jumpers, though!:ohhh: Premonition???:lawd:
Basketball is a business, nothing justifies that ridiculous contract :comeon:

:skip:And the 80s crack game was a business... Rico's actions in jail didn't, by itself, justify putting this nikka on to an operation as a boss without confirming the okay with A

Just a little intersectionality of my two loves, breh...basketball and black cinema.

I still stick with a conspiracy theory that the thj contract was a move by mills to handcuff cap space and discourage other gm’s from taking the job when he preferred a friend. Explains why he went with a RFA, rushed multiple signings (baker too) and was attempting to move the contract basically from the start of this season.

I also think mills is well connected and has some savvy to him in order to survive in msg even past herb dean numbers...not sure at all about his actual basketball acumen but I trust perry there. This offseason will tell us a lot though

Is this chatter that Lebron might be audi after one season in L.A. legitimate? How do you you all feel about a Kyrie/Bron Bron duo, if Kyrie/KD falls through?

Bron is homeless right now. He can't go home and he may not be able to stay.

:wtf:

Mills is an idiot if this was thinking. Just talk the GM out of a bad deal. Imagine what the team could have done if they didn't have that contract.

What I'm saying is there was no GM for him to talk out of it. He was actively interviewing GM's at the time. Which is what made it so bizarre that he managed to soak up all of the cap space for that offseason in a handful of rapid decisions. After he did that, a job that seemed to be garnering interest became one that GM's would pass on...except his boy Perry. So my whole theory is he used the cap space up so that others would turn the job down and leave it open long enough to get Perry out of Sacramento.

I understand, but sounds so stupid for anyone to actually do.:russ:

"I'm gonna saddle my team with a horrible contract, so I can hire my boy without any competition".
But Mills, you just saddled your boy too.:stopitslime:

Got you, yeah it's pretty ridiculous. But dude caught EVERYBODY off guard with the ridiculous contracts he gave out at that point. Like he's either extremely bad at talent evaluation or he had an ulterior motive imo . Peep this bit from an article at the time.

Source: Knicks sign Baker to 2-yr., $8.9M deal

The Knicks, under general manager Steve Mills, signed shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. to a four-year $71 million offer sheet that the Atlanta Hawks -- Hardaway's incumbent club -- declined to match. The contract has been met with shock inside and outside the organization, according to ESPN's Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne.

Off the rip, everyone in and out of the franchise knew those contracts were a mess. I hadn't been that mad at a move since we wasted the amnesty on Billups' expiring to sign Tyson Chandler when CP3 was blatantly getting ready to demand a trade and we'd just signed Amare to an uninsured contract.
