Has to be true, DSJ can't be the best player offered for KP.

It's gonna be a long year with free agency, draft and trade proposals :francis:
The trade did two purposes. I’m sure they could have gotten something else but I doubt we get the cap space picks and young players . For instance I’m sure NO wasn’t accepting KP thjr Lee Burke and not asking for our pick

I almost wish DSJ was not in the trade...

People really think it was about him...it wasn't. That was icing on the top.

This shyt had EVERYTHING to do with their plan to clear cap space & dismantling a time bomb(KP drama) before it blew up in NY.

Scott Perry is on some Mcguyver shyt.

They accomplished that goal.

In hindsight, the FO did a very smart move despite fickle fans. It was an LA clippers move to building a dynasty and they played a chess move by getting rid of their bishop to remove a queen. I'm proud of them and loving this new organization. Our future looks bright as well.

This trade is possibly one of the best trades they've ever made in the history of their franchise. It gives them 3 options.

Option 1, use the cap space to acquire two WORTHY max contracts.

Option 2, if they can't get the right free agents sit on it and build through the draft while acquiring short-term deals until you can get the RIGHT max contract free agents.

Option 3, use the cap space to allow other teams to shed contracts while acquiring more 1st round picks.

This trade could potentially set us up for the next decade.

Edit* And we got DSJ on a rookie deal.

So I’m hearing from my cousin in NYC that he has a source and you guys can could believe me or not that there was a 3 minute meeting between KP and the front office. KP walked in their saying he wanted to play now and they tried to explain to them that they’re trying to tank to sit out and chill. They told him we’re going to give you your max money all you gotta do is sit back and relax. They said they was gonna use the first pick to try and go at AD. He then told them trade me or play me and he said yes. They asked him if we play you are you going to give us a verbal commitment to sign with us and he said no. They told are you sure you want to be traded he said yes. Knicks FO then jumped on the phones and started making deals. Not sure if it’s credible but this is what I’m hearing so just wanted to share with you all.

I think we did what was best for the squad and came out looking good.:yeshrug:

Front office should've had a plan to clear cap space that doesn't involve trading our most valuable player. Why did Mills sign THJR to begin with? And then that contract was not that atrocious that a top 5 young player in the NBA should be used to get rid of.

Even if Porzingis didn't demand a trade shouldn't they have tried to clear cap space for two max players?

Why not include Lee in the Willy trade? Why not trade Lee when he was good last year?

Why not use second round picks or future protected picks to get rid of bad contracts? If your idea is that you're signing two max players then trading some picks won't be a big deal. Since with two max players and Zion (or whoever) we will be a guaranteed playoff team.

People are saying that this might be the best trade in history? :mindblown: It will be good if 3 things happen that haven't happened in last 30 years of this franchise.

1. Sign a top tier free agent to a max deal.
2. Sign a second top tier free agent in the same year.
3. Win the lottery and draft a player that will be a star.

That's a whole lot of things that need to happen, a single one of those hasn't happened to us and now we're expecting all 3? :gucci:

I don't understand your logic at all when it comes to you harping over trading KP. This trade happened BECAUSE KP wanted out. KP didn't get traded BECAUSE we wanted cap space. Your whole line of thinking is weird af.
