Honestly, I could give a fukk if AD, KD and Kyrie bring this organization 10 chips...
If every young player that I've rooted for just becomes trade chips for players I have no supportive connection to... I'll honestly be really saddened.
Not trying to argue against a trade for AD, I would even concede that a trade of KP for AD that brings those other guys is a no brainer from an organization al perspective.

I agree, I wanna see the Knicks win with KP Knox and them, I don't care if's illogical ( Although I think trading KP + Knox and picks is a terrible proposal from our perspective ) but I wanna see homegrown talent hoist a title up.

Random, but I feel like Mitch is our best young prospect outside of KP, not Knox. If he can become an elite Rebounder he's basically our version of Clint Capela.

On the flip I think Toronto can come in as a spoiler. They did it with Kawhi and if they can pair him to AD and maybe keep Lowry. I think they come out the East.

AD can't seriously be coming here. Even if he was it makes no sense to make a move now because it may mess with our draft position even though the pick would be traded having AD would I think win us a few more games. This is the first time in a long time we have a shot at a top 2 pick.
It seems like Kyrie will find his way to the Lakers along with AD. It feels like all these guys do is use us for leverage to end up somewhere else. The best thing the Knicks have going for them is there young core and caps space. Plus they play in the East so the path would be easier to get to the finals. Klay seems to also be interested in playing for LA is he can't make a deal with GS.
Best case for the Knicks is to tank and get a top pick, resign KP and then hope a free agent comes here. Hard to see Durant coming here leaving Golden State to play with a young team against Golden State who has won without him, or the Lakers with another super team (Does he really want to be The Guy?). So the Knicks have a bigger chance of landing the 5th pick than anyone else? How does this new system work?
It makes sense that we could overrate our young players because they are who we see play on a consistent basis, but visit any team’s thread or message board and they all have at least 2-3 young players they are high on as well. Sh*t, if we had this current Nets’ team we’d all be going crazy with al the “potential”.
This is why I agree that if a young and proven superstar becomes available, you have to consider getting them. One in the hand is better than two in the bush type of philosophy.
Plus I said it before, I am not optimistic we’ll get the top pick, and outside of Zion, there is no other player in this draft worth passing up a superstar for (in my opinion).
