The knicks gotta do something to move up in this draft. Everyone knows how high I am on Bamba and now that I saw his draft video. I’m willing to trade everyone not named KP to move up.

We gotta call Memphis and see if they want our 9th pick/frank for that number 4. Or our 9th pick and 2019 first rounder (top 5 protected of course) Shyt i’ll even take chandler parsons off their hands, it’s only 2 more yrs.

I want Bamba
I want him too. He has sky high potential, his new jumpshot form looks promising, its not only his skill, physical profile, athleticism that make him good but he got this intelligence, work ethic, maturity about him.

Y’all think bamba can play with KP? I’m thinking down the line in playoffs when teams go small... you can see either of them guarding on the perimeter consistently? Or is the thought that we would change the way teams play with such a unique lineup?

I think, the main argument and overarching mindset going into the draft, whether we stay @ 9, trade up or trade down, is BPA > Roster fit.

I’ve been saying the same thing but nobody in their right mind is giving up Mo Bamba after seeing footage like that.

He’ll probably move up to top 3 in the draft.

That said, I like mikal is a really nice prospect and even Knox has potential.

It would be really hard for knicks to mess up this draft

Seeing some of the footage and reading about these guys, I have less and less anxiety about it all. Mikal was the end all be all for me initially but there genuinely seems to be a lot of talent in and out the lottery, so much so that I think we're gonna get an impact guy either way. If someone top 5 slips, even better - but I'm not particularly concerned like I was last year. I wanted Frank, I was happy we got Frank and outside of Mitchell, there's no one else I'd want for the potential they bring.

All that being said, those Bamba highlights are fukking terrifying. If dude can really become a force in offense like that, he's who I'd want over anyone. Him and KP with Frank on the perimeter.... :merchant:

Don't think we have anything to offer to Kings or Mavs for their pick. We go nothing :francis:

Best would be to try to aquire a pick by taking on a bad contract, but we don't have cap space :francis:

Memphis would be the most likely team out of the top 5/6 to trade down IMO, think they want to make one more run with Gasol/Conley. But we do lack the assets to get a deal done

I actually like our options @ 9 but getting a 2nd 1st rd pick this yr would be a major win.

Well, you don’t trade up for a player if he doesn’t fit with your current franchise cornerstone. Unless your trading KP to move up...

I dont disagree with you, Im just takin Perry/Mills word at face value when they say they're in talent acquisition mode and taking the BPA is more important than roster fit.

Hopefully the BPA @ 9 is coincidentally a wing :yeshrug:

I wouldn't spend a bundle on a move up. But if that old "Eat Parsons contract and give up Lee for a move up" type deal were there, I'd take Bamba and worry about fit later. Have Fiz studying how to make a 3-1-1 zone work so the twin towers can turn the entire interior into a no-fly zone or some madness :russ:

Definitely one to take with a grain of salt. Does fit into my view that after 5, it's a lot of close talent levels going back a ways.

Some teams with picks ahead of the Knicks have reached out to members of the organization to gauge their interest on trading up to draft Michael Porter Jr., league sources say. Of course, hundreds of conversations like these take place between teams leading up to the draft. And there is no indication that any of the teams that reached out are close to a deal with NYK, nor that Knicks decision-makers have reached any consensus on who they'd like to draft with their first-round pick. But opposing teams are aware that some members of the Knicks' organization are big fans of Porter Jr. Knicks president Steve Mills and GM Scott Perry are scheduled to head to Chicago on Friday to watch Porter Jr. workout, team sources confirm. The Knicks also had representatives at Porter Jr.'s pro day in Chicago last week. ESPN reported then that they would meet with Porter Jr. before the draft. Mills and Perry's plans to travel to Chicago were earlier reported by SNY and the New York Post.

Irving is eligible for an extension this summer but, even coming off another knee surgery that sidelined him for Boston's improbable run to the cusp of the Finals, was adamant that he'll wait for the summer of 2019 to examine his future.

"Contractually, financially, [an extension] just doesn't make any sense," Irving said.

Irving: Extending with C's doesn't make sense

Somethin to keep an eye on :lupe: :sas1: :sas2:

Knox got that Tim Thomas motor/vibe to him when I saw him play. His measurements, tools and age all show room for him to become a very good player; but you have to trust that Fiz will bring out the best in him...I'm more inclined toward either of the two Bridges cats or one of the freak athlete SG's if we pick a wing at 9 but I can see why Knox is gaining momentum. There's a ton of upside in that pick.
