He's easy to sleep on because he's kinda awkward and was overhyped when he was still raw, but the kid put up 16 ppg, 5 rpg and 4 apg on 47% from the field and 39% from three (albeit on limited takes) and he's still gotta use a fake ID to buy alcohol. He made a big leap rookie to sophomore and if he makes another it's to legitimate allstar prospect level. If we could grab Ingraham at the price of eating Deng's contract it's something we should really look closely at...it'd give us our future SF prospect and really let us grab my guy Lonnie Walker or the other freak athlete SG Zhaire Smith. Frank/Walker/Ingraham/KP with a very likely lottery pick to find a big for that core; we'd be in a position to trot out five young lottery picks who all have serious upside to grow together by the 20/21 opening tip.

That said, I still assume Kanter opts in and ruins any dreams of eating a Deng or Faried to stock assets.

I’d actually still take Mikal even with Ingram and start him at the the 2. Just versatility everywhere. But i wouldn’t be mad at any of those lineups..

Hyopthetical rabbit hole: what would you be willing to give up in order to get Ingram (even with deng). The nets trade showed us that the Lakers aren’t THAT dumb of a franchise when they were able to get a late 20s pick (Kuzma) out of unloading Mosgov with Russell. Now factor in the fact that Ingram is a WAY better prospect and more teams would be willing to take Deng on easily (Atlanta especially), whats the highest pick you’d be willing to part with? I’d want to keep number 9 and I’d offer a top 10 protected 19 or 20.

They both need to go:dead:

True, but let's be reality for a sec here. No team is taking Noah and Im not in favor of stretching him & having that dead money on the cap till the early 2020s :scusthov: We stuck with him. Only thing to look forward to is his deal expiring in the 19/20 season, provided we dont waive him before than which again Im not in favor of. At least with taking on Deng for Ingram, we get a former top 3 lottery pick, who had a nice jump in his production in his second season, is very young, has plenty of upside, fills a position of need and it doesn't effect our cap long term. That's a deal I'd make w/o a second thought, but its all a moot point though, Kanter aint optin out :francis:

His pops had one of best handles in NBA history, it's like he didnt learn anything from him basketball wise. THJr's handles will probably always be :meh: at best
I remember his pops talking in an interview about how he had to lay off Jr because he was pushing him away from him and basketball so he just set him up with trainers and let him develop his own game. Did him a disservice with them handles, or lack thereof. :francis:

I just wish he would work on his loose ass handles, would make it much easier for him to drive to the basket.

People sleeping on Timmy but his work ethic is undeniable.

Faced adversity many times in his career - being the last person to know he was traded while dining at Clyde's restaurant w/ family while watching the draft, getting sent to the D-League, being bombarded by media/fan reaction's about his contract, going through a tough season start - and still managed to live up to his contract in comparison toany other young guards with similar salaries.

We are talking about KP rehab, Frank's sophmore improvements, new draft hopes and ignoring that this kid is a sleeping giant.

I'm looking forward to seeing more improvement from him.

One of the more encouraging things from this past season in regards to Tim is that when the shot wasn't falling he was still able to contribute in meaningful ways - getting assists, rebounds, steals, etc. And when the shot was falling he didnt just become a scorer only, he was still filling up the stat sheet in other areas.

On the discouraging side, apart from his shooting slump and contract, he still has some of the same weaknesses from his first stint with us. Poor shoot selection, mediocre handles, subpar defense, & just general inconsistency. Although, I will say, his defense is much improved from his last go with us but it still leaves a lot to be desired. On top of all that, his lack of assertiveness on the offensive end when KP went down was disappointing.

Taking the good with the bad, he had a somewhat decent season under a bad coach. I'm intrigued to see if Fizdale can get the best out of him, even though ultimately I believe THJr is best suited for the 6th man role, the best version of Timmy can be a quality starter.

Hold up...

Someone explain to me how Trae Young has a standing reach of 7'11.:dwillhuh:

I'm not saying it's unbelievable, but I need comparisons to other prospects such as Mikal. Anyone? :feedme:
