It's really this simple. We have him and he's cost controlled, he doesn't need to go to the G-League for reps as long as Fiz can find him 20-30 mpg with the pro's. If he's not showing progressing as the year closes there will be GMs that look at a 20 year old with high level defense at multiple positions who think a change of scenery and philosophy can bring him up to speed offensively. The worst case scenario is he keeps struggling and we get a better draft pick.
Yes, he does. He is a liability when he is on the floor and has been a well below average offensive guard since he's come into the league. You just can't give a raw player with no confidence 20-30 minutes with pros he is stinking it up pretty much every night and tanking the offense. How long is this supposed to go on for? The G-League will allow him to develop and build confidence. These "project" players like Frank Ntlikina and Thon Maker should START their careers in the G-League.

Also, I'm sorry but his defense isn't good enough for how futile he is offensively y'all act like he has the defensive impact of Jason Kidd, he can very easily be out the league or just a low end defensive oriented back up at this pace.

Mudiay is somehow worse then Baker, why the fukks he starting?
Mudiay sucks and I wish he wasn't on the team.

But he's starting because the front office has something invested in him and Fiz likes him and he's experimenting with different line-ups. Mudiay hasn't been great but he has shown penetration ability and I don't know if my eyes deceive me but his effort as a pick dodger has been nice and he's been pretty good at ball hawking the passing lanes. Also, the offense has been much better with Mudiay on the floor, we have a 106.8 offensive rating with him as opposed to an anemic 98.8 with Ntlikina in the game.

He was the second youngest player in the entire league last year and defended the Pick and Roll ball handler better than anybody in the league. He can't hide Enes Kanter consistently, so I can see how some heads aren't seeing it lately (between Mitch foul trouble and moving to the second unit). But there's a reason why that five man unit of Frank, THJ, Dot, Vonleh and Mitch still has one of the best net ratings in the league. I agree, it's not his offense. But he's a part of the highest net rated 5 man combo, four man combo and 3 man combo on the team along with Mitch and Dot. Note those three aren't close to our best offensive players, but they are our best three defenders.

Lineups Advanced

And yes, you can give a player who's struggling with his shot 20-30 mpg in a season where you're tanking anyway. What's he going to do besides help your draft position in the worst case scenario? We're fifteen games into the season and again, he's a similar age or even younger than many rookies including two of ours.

mudiay has been playin better den frank since he came back:yeshrug: i hate mudiay but gotta tell it how it is

i dont agree with it, but i also dont agree with frank playin scared:yeshrug:

Mudiay's earned the shot and it's his role to lose for the time being. He's even stepped up on defense (a little bit at least) and knocked down some jumpers too. I've even liked some his drives lately. He's worth the look this season.

Guess who has the worst net rating at -10.5 :krs:

Is it all his fault? Obviously not this isn't a very good team but we expect strides from our second year guard. We expect more from our number 8 overall pick, we didn't lose all them damn games for this. :shaq2:

Exactly. Kid is starting to look Like a wasted pick that high
