A souped up Dray would be a high level, quality 2 way player as well as an excellent 3rd/4th offensive option...thats nothing to sneeze at.....every team with a legit shot at a championship needs 2 or 3 of these revved up, all purpose, jack of all trades, swiss army knife, super glue guys. To poo-poo a guy just b/c you dont believe he can be a 1st or 2nd scoring option is incredibly short sighted, breh

KP, Timmy, Knox, Burke....there's only one basketball, breh. Somebody's gotta sacrifice and fill the void of contributing in other ways besides scoring.....rebounding, passing, handling the ball, running the offense as a secondary playmaker, solid defense, and still managing to get the occasional bucket here and there to the tune of a "quiet" 12-15 pts a game....if a rookie Zion can provide all that or even half of that then hell yeah I'd want that on my squad...

I see where you're going but nothing about that game said that Zion could be Draymond. If anything his play reminds me of my favorite 2019 FA Randle. He can attack on the dribble, pass, rebound and then lead the transition, and score in the paint. Zion looks like he can potentially be better than Randle though because, in theory, the 3 pt shot is there. If anything Knox, has the most potential to be a Draymond Green type player for the knicks because of his offensive versatility, ball handling, and he's shown he can stay in front of at least summer league guards.

I really think the 2019 draft should be focused on getting a high-level scorer. They might want to move Timmy to create more cap room (which means his scoring is going to have to be replaced). Also, I think whoever they draft is going to be coming off the bench in 2019 because the 2019 FA pickup is going to be a starter.

For example, let's say they keep Mario and Burke and add a high-level scorer to that bench. It would be great looking bench.

Burke
Dotson
Cam or Romeo or Grimes
Mario
Mitch

is a legit bench that can score as a group and sub in for the starters. None of those guys are burying each other for minutes and could sub in for starters from position 1-5.

Was not comparing Zion to Draymond or that the game he had last night was Dray like

Just tryin to say a turnt up version of Dray skill-wise is an excellent player, that comp doesn't work as a slight against him @.number.(n)one.* :comeon:

Been said Zion reminds me an aerial version of Julius Randle, so we on the same page there

:patrice: - If they aren't able to move Timmy wouldn't the Knicks need to renounce most if not all of their own FAs? Cant remember where exactly but I believe I read that off a Knicks Wall article breaking down our cap situation heading into the FA of 2019. At best we'd only be able to keep 1, Burke most likely. No tears shed not bringing back the likes of Mudiay, Hezonja, Voneleh etc......losing Dotson would suck tho

I think they can keep Burke, Mudiay is one that has to go. Not sure about Mario, I haven't done the math since they signed him. LT would be waived, and I think it comes down to if they can move Lee.

Also here is Fiz talking about Randle, cause I am not the only one who thinks breh is severely underrated.

Starters
Frank
Timmy
Knox
Randle
KP

Bench
Burke
Cam/RJ/Romeo/Grimes/
Dotson
Mario
Mitch

Breh that they type roster I like to see go to war with Philly/Boston/Bucks because of all the mismatches that would be in the Knicks favor.
:ehh:

They young but by 2020-2021 they would be War Ready.:demonic:

:whoo::obama::whew:

Or....consider this.....instead of potentially overpaying for Randle...why not draft his turbo charged version in Zion instead and have him cost controlled on a rookie scale contract for the next 4-5 years

Frank
Tim
Knox
Zion
KP

2nd unit:

Burke
Dotson
Bring back Troy Will/some vet minium deal
Bring back Mario or Voneleh depending on whose the better value/bang for your buck or another (young) reclamation project or vet min player
Mitch

so either

Burke
Dot
Troy Will/Vet Min Player/Another young reclamation project
Mario
Mitch

Or

Burke
Dot
Troy Will/Vet Min deal/Another young reclamation project
Voneleh
Mitch

Or the cheapest version:

Burke
Dot
Troy Will/Vet Min/Another young reclamation project
Vet Min/Cheap young reclamation project
Mitch

:manny:

Excellent starting 5, decent bench that doesn't cost too much and whose spare parts can be moved around/dealt for better fitting pieces/upgrades, if need be. I fukks with it :yeshrug::ehh:

Y’all see to forget we still got Courtney lee and joakim Noah

Well, if reports are true, Noah not for long (well, most of his contract anyway) and perhaps Lee becomes easier to move closer to the trade deadline, teams needing extra depth, injury replacement, etc, etc.....tho it is a bit disappointing he's still on the team :francis:

Yeah. Zion will be the number one overall pick by draft time. The more I watch tape on him and the other guys the more apparent it becomes that he’s the only guy in this draft whose different.

I think he can score more than advertised. Seems like he can get you 20 points off grab and gos, monstrous offensive board work, power low post moves, P&R, and can drive it into the chest and get to the rim against anyone who sags off, C&S looked good too.

Duke basketball gonna be a must watch this year for all Knicks fans
