I believe it doesn't matter if they waive him in September or the end of the season. He would have to still be waived in order for them to have max space in 2019.

So in that case I understand why to waive him now, it open some more minutes at 5, and gives Noah an option to find another team this season. Also it stops the narrative of the Knicks having the worse contract in the league (which was false because Parson's Grizzlies contract was always the worse except for Knick bias)

I like Zion as a small ball 4.

Though I think the knicks should look at the 2's in this draft. Cam, Romeo, Grimes...... All of them look like legit SG's and drafting one of them would secure both the knicks bench at SG and would make TImmy expendable in case they do want to try and trade for a second max FA spot.
