Would yall be disappointed if the Knicks turn out doing better than Philly this year. I'm not trying to overhype myself but let's look at the matchups. Let's say Knox scores 15-20 pts per game and is actually a lotto, Frank starts showing confidence and becomes a better point than Simmons and perhaps both Kanter and Robinson are productive big men. What if Timmy has an Atlanta year?

I'm only saying this because I think besides Embiid, Philly is overrated. Boston and Toronto will dominate the east either way but due to there being a lot of scrub teams on the east, we might actually make the playoffs and give promise to new free agents rather than top lottery picks. I dunno if that's good or bad.
Depends, if it’s purely from Money Mitch, Frank and Knox I’m fine since it’ll mean we’re ahead of schedule.

I agree on philly being overrated. I think they regress a bit this year. Still make the playoffs but they’ll fall to the 5th or 6th seed. I’m really high on Indiana too. But as far as those scenarios, if they happened of course I’d be happy but the only one i can see is Knox. Frank could be good but to be better than Simmons he’d have to be a top 7 pg this season? That’s a big leap.

Im high on Frank but its incredibly unlikely this happens this upcoming season or even the season after that. Maybe 3 yrs from now but still doubtful, you gotta figure that barring injury, Ben is going to get better during that same timespan as well, and the gap between the two players is fairly (very) wide as it is, to put it mildly.

Knox might score 15 or more and Timmy if healthy most of the season wouldn't surprise me if he had a really good yr, like fringe all-star type good.

Kanter is Kanter. He'll get his buckets and boards but he'll give those buckets right back on the other end and will further sacrifice defense in the pursuit of boards. Despite his SL performance Mitch is still a bit of a mystery, I'll just be happy to see him get consistent mins

As far as the rest goes, yeah idk abt all that.

I just don't think Simmons is a top 8 pg on my list.

Top 8 PG under 23? :ld::yeshrug:

One of the top "rookie" PGs to play last season; for sure

If not one of the top PGs last season in general, then pretty close to it

Fast approaching top 10 overall, if he ever gets a jump shot, even if its just a mid-range J, top 5 easy

I think if they regress, we'll see them making a play with the excess youth to add a legit star type at the trade deadline. The other thing is that Fultz is a guy I could see making a leap if he cleans up that mess of a jumper over this summer. That kid is WAY better than what we saw.

Top 8 under 23, I definitely agree with you on. If he gets a jumpshot, he's easily top 5. That's his main flaw. He's almost like a 6'10 Rajon Rondo imo.

Simmons can be ranked anywhere from 6-10 of all PG’s. And he may be even better than that coming into his sophomore season. He can’t shoot but he can pass the fukk out the ball, slash, and defend. No way is Frank going to be better.

Embiid should have an MVP type season and this stage of development. He could catapult himself as the best player in the East.

We’re nowhere near Philly, we have a lot of poor defenders on the roster.

It’s possible... but they weren’t GREAT all last year than went on a mean streak beating up on bad teams around March and shot themselves up the rankings. Everyone’s worried about Boston’s chemistry but Philly is the team I’m looking at with chemistry issues. Simmons and Embiid seem to have big egos. Simmons’ has been way under reported.

I think Frank's zenith will end up being higher than Simmons in the long run. Don't get me wrong Simmons is a great defender but we haven't seen Frank get much minutes on the court with a proper coaching staff and within those minutes, his defense was superb. He was also a 45% shooter last year. He will have more games where he'll score 17 pts.

I think that Giannis is the best player in the east next to Embiid then Tatum and Kyrie when the season starts. Defense is one our biggest problems but that is because of our line up being non defenders. Mitchell and Knox with Frank and Lee will help a lot. Maybe I'm just over enthusiastic but I see us making at the very most 7th seed while getting some wins on Philly at 5th. This is the east we're talking about, it's going to be very hard to be trash with only 4 teams dominating and the rest fighting for scraps. I have faith that KP will come back into a contending team by February but lemme stop getting my hopes up.

fukk it....I need a drink.

Thats pretty much a dead on comp - prime Rondo was a top tier PG even with the broken jumper

One thing Prime Rondo has over Ben was that even though he was (and still is) a poor shooter he was never afraid to take an open shot. In that Bos Philly series Ben turned down and ran away from so many open shots it was sadly comical. Ppl make so much out of Frank's lack of aggression but Ben has got his own issues in that department as well, dont sleep
