For the young players to get the bulk of the playing time, so that the FO can assess their strengths, weaknesses, potential, fit in the macro plan and market value.
No, and I did not state or imply such an argument.
What is wrong with this is that it's overall long term utility is low, in all likelihood an 8th seed requires playing the mediocre FA's a large amount of minutes while simultaneously undermining the minutes and development of the young players. If the Knicks can obtain an 8th seed while the youth are getting a large bulk of the playing time then I am all for it, but the likelihood of that occurring is low.
So given the potential two choices of A) Getting 22-25 wins with the youth getting the most of the playing time or B) Getting 35-40 wins with the FA getting the bulk of the minutes. I'm going with option A for the previously stated reasons.
This is wishful thinking and in the event that the Knicks end up striking out in 2-3 years like they did on Sunday, you have a high probability of ending up in a position where the current youth are underdeveloped, none of the blue chip 20' or 21' picks are on the Knicks roster, and celebrating a chance to get stomped out by the 76ers in the first round is the apex of Fitz era.
Like I stated before...Nah I'm good.
