Every beat is dope, but many are lacking in the Whip :francis: That's where Larry's music usually excels. 60 Days & Porsches in Spanish need that drum-kit stimulus package

Features from best to worst imo.

Loved:
Boldy James
Evidence
Joey Badass
Slum Village
Curren$y

Indifferent:
Big Sean
Wiz Khalifa

Hated:
Jay-Worthy
Action Bronson

This shyt dope?
I don’t know nothing about Larry June but I understand he’s from my area.

His music is kind of an acquired taste. He's definitely the least impressive "emcee" that Al has done a project with in a long time. Larry's more of a vibe and lifestyle kind of artist. He raps a lot about smoothies, oranges, fresh water, cars, shopping organic. He's definitely not anyone you'll look to for a crazy 16, but he makes some dope laid back music.

BTW you see this Prodigy joint from IG last night? :wow:

we got the exact same list here in the same order lol. I got Action over Jay Worthy but I think that's it

I don't remember a thing Jay Worthy said it was so bland & forgettable.

But with Action, his verse just annoys the hell out of me, starting with when he says "she put it in her big p*ssy":scust: rest of the verse just reduces the dopeness of the track.

Norfeast groovin…
If I'm being objective, the tape is good. I see why people like it. I feel like he did this to get the respect of the hip-hop purist crowd and it's actually working. I salute him for stepping out of his comfort zone. This is not the bag I like hearing Larry in tho as a fan and I will probably never listen to this shyt again straight through. It's not one of those for me. Just being real. I'm putting my favorite songs on a playlist and waiting for the next shyt with Cardo, Sledgren, Cookin Soul, etc.

I haven’t even listened to it yet but this was my worry when I heard they were doing a tape together. A song or two is cool but Larry at his best with those producers you named.

With that said I’m still gonna give it a spin. I might be pleasantly surprised. What I think might’ve made this tape better is if it was a joint project with Curren$y. That would’ve been insane.

I think that they are a diverging point in their careers, him and spitta

I expect a collab or 2 soon but not much, Larry's on the cusp of cracking the code as far as dudes in this lane getting mainstream attention without having major label help or radio play. He's well known and well respected even after a very short amount of time.

Meanwhile spitta's full circle in having a major exec coaching him again, it's almost like a star player late in his career getting a hall of fame coach and learning his system. I think he'll feel like he has a lot to prove and won't be relying as much on his normal collaborators.
