Any suggestions on a program better than Duolingo?

Thinking of picking up my Japanese again. I did 10 weeks of it last year and got 2/3 alphabets down but the kanji is another story
My Mrs is half Japanese so we thinking when our contract of our lease is up to spend maybe up to a year out there.
So I am going to start swatting up again and try and get decent level to maybe have basic interaction and to teach English or do my IT there

I was gonna ask why you didn't get your wife to help you out with learning and then I remember trying to learn Spanish with an ex.
I'm looking for a tutor and some classes right now for Japanese. The hiragana had me confused but imma get it this time around.
I can understand Spanish just off of Portuguese now ...
Every Spanish speaker is like a semi-fluent Portuguese speaker and vice versa.
Hell, even with my little bit of French I can contextually understand written Spanish.

A great resource for native learning is radio Garden. Radio stations all over the globe are searchable by country. Will help with speed and understanding.
