LaMelo was shooting 18% from three for the season before that game.

He averages 1.5 makes on 6.5 attempts and that's with the international line.


Shooting 32% from the field, his team is only 2-7 and he's not even the best player on it (Aaron Brooks is MUCH better and he was a scrub the last year he played NBA).

In their defense, they weren’t alone in their thinking since at his efficiency was a huge question mark for scouts coming into the draft. A lot of people would be lying if they said they knew he would be this good already or he would have been the consensus #1 pick.

The strangest thing about it though is that even Lonzo has figured it out now. They seem to start out look, but get better as the season goes on. Lavar was right all along though and now it’s time for the media to give him props (they won’t). It was a method to his antics after all lol.

Efficiency does matter especially when a lot of players are putting up hollow numbers these days. Everybody is putting up numbers in the NBA so efficiency and advanced metrics need to do come into play especially during award season where millions of dollars are on the line.

The eye test in the NBA won't work anymore.

I don't know what reddit wants you to believe, but volume shooters don't magically give their teams extra possessions to score when they miss shots. Efficiency is absolutely essential.
