If he wins this third MVP, then they have to win the SB or we’re going to have to have a discussion. Can’t be out here winning MVP and having regular season success and it not carry over to the playoffs.

Gotta hold em to GOAT level standards like we do for people on that level.

No excuses.
It ain’t just Lamar. The whole team and coaching staff have to carry their load too. 2019 the defense got gashed and the receivers dropped a ton of passes while the coaches panicked on offense and abandoned the run early. 2020 was just not a great game. 2021 and 2022 Lamar was out hurt. Last year was a product of the worst gameplan I’ve ever seen a team put together.

Look at Peyton Manning. I think 9 times he left with a lead following a score or the punt unit heading out in the final 4-5 minutes and his team lost. Aaron Rodgers led a game tying drive with the season on the line in the final seconds 3 years straight only for the defense to give up the walk off score to lose on the next drive. The greatest show on turf rams lost when Az Hakim fumbled a punt return with the rams down 3 and out of timeouts inside the 2 minute warning of a playoff game vs the saints. The next year Warner led the game tying drive inside the 2 minute warning and never touched the ball again. The quarterback can’t do it all by himself.

I mean, Allen lost Diggs and yet is currently 12-3 with wins over both the Celtics and Chiefs :yeshrug:

He fits the bill of ‘Most Valuable Player’ to his team this year.

Edit; Meant the Lions, lol :heh:

QBs especially MVP ones tend to get all the credit when the team wins and the benefit of a doubt when they lose at the expense of everyone else and we've seen that many times before. In that case, it's only fair that they take the bulk of the responsibility in pulling off the victory.

Is it fair? No, but them getting the bulk of the credit and attention isn't either :yeshrug:

Easily MVP
Destroying Texans
Not sure why Allen is getting the most media exposure (by far)
Because he has earned it and I say that as someone who has been critical of the media love and his play in past season. If you want to make the argument that he's been a media darling in past season I would agree with you, but this season he has earned the praise he received. If he wins the MVP this season, it will be deserved.

I disagree with that. Winning is so team dependent. The key is he has to play well.

If he has a Tom Brady in SB LII against the Eagles and loses..

Or Josh Allen v the Chiefs after the 2021 season and loses...

You can't fault him

I agree, but that’s not always how the media sees it when it comes narratives in wins and losses.

QBs will almost always get the credit and benefit of a doubt compared to everyone else.

Allen has been great with his team but:

The Bills have beaten up on porous teams. The AFC East literally has 3 below .500 teams. Bills play them 6 times. This season they also facing the AFC South which has another 3 teams below .500 teams. So that's 9 games against below .500 teams. And of course, they beat below .500 and battered 9ers, making it 10 below .500 teams

Facing winning record teams, has resulted in an average output for the Bills (3-3). Including a 35-10 route put on them by Baltimore

The quality of teams are just much lower and statistically Lamar is much higher.
